    What should I read?

Ugg... I can't believe I forgot to mention those "two". Good picks! Though, I would add the warning that you have to be a real Tolkien fan to enjoy the Silmarillion. Those that I have recommended it to have had mixed feelings...

    What should I read?

Raymond Feist Speaking of Raymond Feist, I only read the first two books in the series, the two Magician books. The story seemed fairly complete at that point... then I found out there were half a dozen more books in the same setting. How good are they? Do they add to the story? Am I...

    What should I read?

I've always been really partial to Melanie Rawn's Drangon Prince and Dragon Star series. There are a total of 6 books split into two trilogies. I think it's very epic and has a lot of fantasy elements. A fairly in depth history (explained over the course of the series) and a very interesting...

Rate The Chronicles of Riddick (No CoR spoilers, some Pitch Black spoilers)

Just saw CoR. My wife and I really liked it. I personally love movies though and can be easily entertained by even "bad" movies... I'm apt to rush out and see just about anything that hits the theaters (yeah... I've got an addiction, I think my local cinema puts something in the popcorn to...

    New Aliens vs Predators trailer

It might be cheesy camp... I can't get enough AvP goodness. Wow. I loved this trailer -- but then again, I too am easily entertained :)

    Who Would Illustrate Your Setting?

First name that always comes to my mind when I think of favorite artists (and kinda surprised his name wasn't mentioned yet), Micheal Whelan -- I buy many books simply because he has done the cover! Otherwise: Wayne Reynolds and Todd Lockwood are my current d20 favorites... and I'd selfishly...

Hey! I used to live in Canton (went to Gallimore Elem., East Middle, and almost went to Salem High...) Last I drove through there, it's really grown up (I remember when Warren Rd beteen Canton Cnt and Sheldon was a dirt road!) One of your crew should move more north... there appearently...

    SE michigan gamer LFG

How "northern suburbs" are we talking? Any chance you'd consider Saginaw part of one of those "suburbs"? Heck, it's definitely NORTH :heh: I've been looking for a group for sometime, but I'd imagine we're a bit too far apart :uhoh: Looking for an rpg group...

    Recommend a scarey book

Good question. Different people have different levels. It's very subjective and I should've clarified. To put it in perspective: I've read a bit of Stephen King and I really like his work... but I'd like something scarier :] I read House of Leaves on the recommendation of another and...

    A crapload of new users?

Intro Hi all. I've been visiting these pages for years -- most of which I spent anonymously... Obviously from my small post count since I officially joined I don't say much :heh: I've been removed from my gaming group for some time, so reading these boards is a way for me to keep in touch...

[Star Wars] Shatterpoint novel by Stover

Now that's an intriguing comment. Though I love Star Wars, I haven't read many of the books... that one sentence is enough to get me reading a few more!! :) Sooo, what do you mean by directly disturbing (or will it ruin it for me)?

    Dungeons and Dragons 2

"The gamers" Speaking of "The Gamers," does anybody know anything about their sequel? I thought I remembered hearing that it was in production a little bit ago, does anybody know if it will soon be out?? The first one was great!

    Mid-Michigan Gamer seeking a group...

Hi all. A few years back I moved from my gaming group and the withdraw is getting the better of me! :( I need to find a gaming group. I'm in Mid-Michigan (in the Saginaw area) and I'm looking for a fantasy 3.0/3.5ed group. I'm "close to" 30, married (no children), and have my masters...

    Starship Troopers 2

That's a shame. I don't remember much of the book, most of what I remember comes from the bookcase strategy game (Avalon Hill?) from a few decades ago. I was hoping we'd see more intergalatic life, like the skinnies (official name?)... Ah well. Sounds like it's not even worth renting.
