There are two things with EXCEEDINGLY short lifespans in LB's stories: 1) Good aligned clerics. 2) Arcane Casters. The absolute worst risk for life insurance is the cleric. The arcane caster is just behind that, but not by much. Regardless, this time around it's just a fake-out... Dimension...

Go with Dragonblooded. I first saw it in Races of the Dragon, but it probably appeared elsewhere first. Essentially, anything that's anti- or pro-dragon affects them as well.

That's what I was referring to as well. If you look it up in the MM -- as I did at lunch -- then they are Lawful Evil... until you look at the Afflicted Table (reproduced in the SRD link you posted) where they are listed as Chaotic Evil. I took that to mean that natural wererats are lawful...
