    Dresden Files RPG

Has anyone read or looked at the Dresden Files RPG yet? I love that series of books and I'm wondering how they did at capturing the feel of the setting in the books.

[Rogue Trader]Rebirth of the Dawn Treader (Updated 8/17/2010)

Maybe I missed something, but how did the Lord Captain suffer injury?

Fight for the Lost - The Mass Effect 2 Thread

Heh, I was dumb on my Insanity playthrough -- used my goody-two-shoes Adept Shepard, rather than my far more brutal Renegade Soldier. Running into packs of Armored Husks with an Adept and needing their armor down before you can actually really hurt them with your powers? Ouch. Thank god for...

PS3: "Final Fantasy XIII", "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" or "Dragon Age: Origins"?

My recommendations: 1) Dragon Age: Origins. It's an awesome game, with quite a bit of character choice and a great storyline. 2) Fallout 3: As others have mentioned, it's a wonderful, wide-open game. Your choices really affect things. 3) Oblivion: See #2, then add some (to me) really...

[Rogue Trader]Rebirth of the Dawn Treader (Updated 8/17/2010)

And here I didn't think you cared about the Inquisition. Heh. The siren song lure of Xenos tech... It also has such *fascinating* drawbacks and downsides, for some odd reason... ;) Really enjoying this story-hour and the log-book format.

[Rogue Trader]Rebirth of the Dawn Treader (Updated 8/17/2010)

I'd *love* to hear that excuse actually being used on a real Inquisitor. The Inquisitor would probably get a hearty chuckle out of it as well... on the way to the torture chambers. I call for more story!

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

I'm a huge, huge fan of the entire series. (Okay, not PoP-3d, but all the rest.) Sands of Time stands out as the best in the entire line of games, so I was very nervous about this movie. I didn't want it to 'ruin' the franchise. That said, I did enjoy it for what it was. A good popcorn...

    Mass Effect movie confirmed

Well, since we all have different opinions on the subject matter, what's important to me in a Mass Effect movie may not be as important to you. LightPhoenix obviously (and near completely) disagrees with me on what needs to be seen, for example. But yeah, if you're trying to make an ~2hr...

[Rogue Trader]Rebirth of the Dawn Treader (Updated 8/17/2010)

I like the writing style quite a bit, but I love how well the group apparently fits into the 40k mindset. "What, we're under fire? Quick, use all these civilian ships as cover while we duck into the Warp!" LOL. I'm really enjoying this story hour.

    OotS #726 is up!

Anyone else notice that he hangs around all the time with a guy who constantly wears a black outfit and that he's a major person of power in an evil organization... and his name is *Tarquin*?? I keep getting shades of Grand Moff Tarkin and Darth Vader. And loving it. ESPECIALLY with the...

    Mass Effect movie confirmed

This is going to be a tough one to do well. So much of the backstory is kind of necessary -- the way the technology was FOUND, not developed is *critical* to understanding how long-term the Reapers think, for instance. I could see this working quite well with the main storyline, though --...

[Rogue Trader]Rebirth of the Dawn Treader (Updated 8/17/2010)

Awesome. I love Rogue Trader, but I've never gotten a chance to run/play it. Looking forward to reading more!

    OotS #724 is up

Yeah, but those were black dragons, not red. Other than Tiamat, would any dragon really be bothered if a rival got whacked?

    STARGATE UNIVERSE # 17:Pain/Season 1/2010

I don't think it's going to happen. Remember the conversation about the widowed scientist before the "paradise" planet? She was into him because he was obviously a good catch and single 'through no fault of his own'. She wants a man that's got a solid track record of being a good...

May '10: What Are You Playing?

Resonance of Fate (fun, but obscure), Torchlight (still), Halo: ODST for the shooter-fix, and most importantly... the StarCraft 2 Beta. Love that game.

Fight for the Lost - The Mass Effect 2 Thread

I definitely agree with you on thinking it was a little soft on the player. None of the "who do you use" decisions were that tough -- YMMV, of course -- and the only other real requirement were the upgrades and loyalty missions. I imported my Shepard, so we started at pretty much the same...

Sagiro's Story Hour: The FINAL Adventures of Abernathy's Company (FINISHED 7/3/14)

I love the feline conclave. How (mechanically) did Dranko lose the arm? Expanded crit table, some kind of special attack? I'm curious how that was determined, if you don't mind explaining. Loving the quick updates the last few weeks -- the fight with the Rat God was awesome indeed, but the...

Fight for the Lost - The Mass Effect 2 Thread

I was amused by the fact that my Paragon playthrough from the ME1 save-file had all kinds of recurring characters... while my Renegade playthrough (also from a save file) was a great deal EMPTIER. Kind of hilarious.

    STARGATE UNIVERSE # 14:Human/Season 1/2010

Yeah, I'm going to have to cut him slack on this one. If I saw a spider that size, I would have been both quicker to shoot it *and* a lot less calm about getting Chloe to move first. Spiders don't bother me much -- I've held a friend's tarrantula on more than one occasion -- but that thing was...

    Al-Qarin: Into the Desert (3-1-24)

And that's what Khalid gets for trying to do something nice... Poor guy can't catch a break!
