    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 5e 2024 Monk Handbook

So, I’m not sure how Perfect Focus can be ranked so low, considering the dependence on Focus, and the fact that there is no limit to uses of Perfect Focus, meaning that between recovery, normal number of focus, less dependency than in 2014 (you get more for free), and Perfect Focus, at that...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 5e 2024 Monk Handbook

Yeah, which is too bad because it’s a natural fit for MC Druid. I just let the pet scale by character level, personally, or make it a sidekick. But this is all tangential. One Monk thing I haven’t scoped out yet for 2024 is whether or not Monk/Moon Druid is still awesome. I mean it’s THP and...

D&D 5E (2024) YART: Adding Ranger Spell Options to Class Features.

Are imps part of the normal FF spell though? Why not just let the ranger summon make beast of CR 1/2, medium or smaller, their familiar, rather than the weirder stuff like imps and quasits. (Maybe include fey and monstrosities, but that isn’t necessary) It’s crazy that rangers and Druids don’t...

D&D General Would Mercer’s Bloodhunter be balanced with no self harm damage?

Simple question, really. Looking at the class, I’m not sure what about it requires the mallus of taking damage, in order to be balanced, which means the class is lowkey underpowered. The things you get just don’t merit “give this an extra price”, unless I’m missing something. So would you...

D&D 5E (2024) YART: Adding Ranger Spell Options to Class Features.

I agree. A solid option would be to get it as your favored spell but it can attack and has bonus hp and damage using a d6, so that when your favored spell upgrades from d6 to whatever, the familiar option upgrades smoothly. Keep the added rules in the basic feature, and keep the later features...

D&D 5E (2024) YART: Adding Ranger Spell Options to Class Features.

Tbh I think it could work anyway. It’s not actually broken at level 1. You just would only have the 2 uses until level 5, which isn’t ideal. Maybe find familiar, and at level 5 summon beast becomes an option? FF would need to be able to attack, and use a d6 and have a d6 HPD so that it upgrades...

D&D 5E (2024) YART: Adding Ranger Spell Options to Class Features.

My wife had a strong negative reaction to that when I suggested it. It’s too iconically the Paladin’s thing. Which makes sense I guess, if you value niche protection. And I don’t think the Ranger is helped by sharing even more spells with other stronger classes.

D&D 5E (2024) YART: Adding Ranger Spell Options to Class Features.

To be clear, Summon Beast would provide a “here’s a pet” in the base class, and then the BM would buff and auto-scale that spell rather than having its own thing. Duration changes to instantaneous and it loses concentration, and the spell is cast at the level of your highest level ranger spell...

D&D 5E (2024) YART: Adding Ranger Spell Options to Class Features.

I think that a good option would be Summon Beast (though the spell isn’t that great so perhaps a new spell like “Find Primal Companion” or some such. I’d also consider adding more options at higher levels, like pass without trace.

Haha yeah, but in terms of colloquialisms I’m pretty sure 80% or more of enworld posters are considered old. 😂

D&D 5E (2024) Gunslinger Class (from Valda's Spire of Secrets) on DnD Beyond!

Yeah I like the Battlesmith purely for the fact it actually uses a weapon, whereas the Artillerist just uses wands and stuff and casts spells. Both have great options especially combined with mark of making human. Battlemaster is also very cool though and the tech stuff can be done with skills...

D&D 5E (2024) Gunslinger Class (from Valda's Spire of Secrets) on DnD Beyond!

Yep, especially the 2024 BM, no reason to look elsewhere tbh. I am gonna make a Percy style PC soon, and I’m torn between full tech using BM and magitech using either Artillerist or Battlesmith artificer. (By Percy style I just mean she will have a pistol and a big long rifle)

If you wanna sound old, I guess, but even millenials say thicc, and we’re old 😅 Um…..wat?

D&D 5E (2024) Gunslinger Class (from Valda's Spire of Secrets) on DnD Beyond!

I contend that the best trick shooter in 5e is the BM Figter, the best snipers are rogues or (especially Hunter) rangers, and the best magitech gunsmith is the artificer. Matt Mercer’s Gunslinger is just not as good as the Battlemaster at what it tries to do.

Um…I’m pretty sure thicc is vastly more appropriate here than corpulent. She cute, and she thicc. It’s a good thing.

D&D 5E (2024) Is There A New Sheriff in Town?

Dagger and small dagger, at least, you get a damage bonus to your main hand while holding a small dagger in your offhand. Don’t know about gish support beyond like, rogue, ranger, and seraph, at least, all having the ability to choose both magic and weapon based domain cards.

    D&D 5E (2024) Simplifying Dual Wielding in 5e-2024

Monk/Ranger murders everything with TWF, but tbh I haven’t felt any lack of competence playing a TWF rogue or Ranger.

D&D 5E (2024) Is There A New Sheriff in Town?

D&D 5e isn’t declining, and everyone who picks up DH because of CR is already familiar with D&D 5e, so…no. And frankly, I doubt very much that a significant portion of D&D fans were, in fact, “awaiting innovative changes that never came”. The alt covers sold out fast and the normal versions...
