Dude 6-7 good ones is plenty for it to be a problem. And the spells I mentioned show that you’re wrong about 5e having some consistent design philosophy against letting a character ever stack strong spells. The bloody Paladin can stack divine favor and bless and still smite, for goodness sake.

The Ranger’s biggest issue is that using its central class feature makes it effectively not a spellcaster while it’s active. Too many other Ranger spells use concentration, including Ensaring strike which should be bread and butter alongside hunters mark, but can’t be.

Not bad. I just allow HM to be cast without concentration, and when you do it only lasts 1 minute. We also remove concentration from Ensaring Strike. Frankly the Ranger’s biggest issue is gameplay, not power, IMO.
