    Gaming and Jury Duty Discrimination?

So I should show up dressed as myself? Keen! Shall I also brandish my Engineering degree in one hand and wear a button that says "Proud to be an ex-cop and a teacher!"? -TRRW

    Insight Skill

This, of course, leads to the debate of "why should real life Intelligence and Charisma have any effect on your imaginary character, when real life Strength and Constitution don't?". It takes some real willpower to be a smart guy playing a stupid character not solving every riddle posed to us...

    Reminder

Lack of praise is one thing; outright trolling and bilious criticism are what the mods are talking about for the most part. Negative Statement About 4E that is OK: "I don't like this change. Even though I dislike the direction the game is apparently going, I'll just state my dislike and move...

    Forgotten Realms - Public petition

As a longtime Realms fan (and purchaser of many an FR book), I'd just like to say that changing the Realms would be terribly awesome. Gotta shake things up, otherwise stagnation sets in. -TRRW

The Skinsaw Murders available in .pdf for subscribers

Ok, so I finished skimming over it. Gotta say, I really like the direction they took with it. Very evocative. Also, I love horror adventures and am going to upsell the gore and malevolence of the whole thing. -TRRW

The last sentence spoils the fun

Not to derail too badly, but with Diehard, that spell *does* become just that awesome. Anyway, I just had an instance of that tonight. One of those "I cast grease, then light it on fire" kids from ye olde days. He kept insisting that he could light grease on fire and flambe the baddies with...

    Beware possible dumb wizard question

Duskblades (PHB2) get that feature, though I think it only works for Melee weapons. Arcane Archers (DMG) get the ability as well, but Eldritch Knights get no such thing. Sorry. -TRRW

    D&D 4E the Price of 4E

Heck, I preordered 5 of them; one for each person in my gaming group. $20 is too good to pass up. -TRRW

Help me name my Runepunk RPG!

I was just going to suggest switching the two taglines. Goreblade: The Alien Dragon Apocalypse sounds *much* better than the available choices. -TRRW

Will adventures be sorted by level?

It's a mite too difficult to make an adventure plausible for 1-10 range. Far too many "if your group is such'n'such" sidebars taking up valuable adventure space. -TRRW

Will adventures be sorted by level?

I think that your description of what spells fit into what classifications is a bit - well, a lot - off. Also, the description of Keep on the Shadowfell says that it's for a group of adventurers between 1st and 3rd level. Seriously, Detect Evil is higher level than Fireball, both of which are...

    Other SAGAs?

I was, up til a bit ago, working on a Harry Potter-esq RPG based on Saga. It's kind of stalled out on me, but it seemed to be working... I guess... -TRRW

How powerful is abilty SA things usually immune to SA?

The Penetrating Strike alternate class feature from Dungeonscape allows you to sneak attack against anything normally immune to them, albeit at half normal dice. It's like Death's Ruin, except instead of working against only undead, it works against anything normally immune to Sneak Attack...

Shackled City: What's a good Class for it?

Dragon Shaman 1 / Marshal 2 / Warlock 1 / Bard X. Ultimate buffer guy. You just kinda hang out, and people around you become more awesome. Dragon Shaman Auras: Fast Healing, Damage, and Charisma skill booster. Marshal Auras: Motivate Dexterity (Minor), Damage Reduction (Major). Warlock...

    AD&D 2E Which 2e campaign setting should make a comeback in 4e?

Um, guys? Dragonlance was updated officially to 3rd.5 edition. OA and Ravenloft both got books in the 3e Era, as well. If you're going to list 2nd Edition campaign settings that got updated to 3rd that people might want getting updated to 4th, you left out FR and Greyhawk. -TRRW

    D&D 4E 4e Srd

Conversely, in 16 years of gaming, I've never been in a group where each individual member didn't go out and buy their own copy of the rules within a month of the game starting. Seems like no matter what game we play, the other people in the group go out and buy the core books for the game...

    Campaign Duration

See, though, to me that isn't one campaign. That's many campaigns that have an interwoven backstory and plot. Once you retire a series of characters, it ceases to be that campaign anymore. It's new, albeit with lots of callbacks to the previous campaign. It's not that I don't believe a...

    D&D 4E Help me plan a pseudo-4e one-shot (cross-posted)

I'm mildly confused about the low number of Action Points, but other than that everything is looking promising. One thing you're missing is an explanation of Social Combat, but I guess that's a bit advanced at the point you're introducing people. Also, when Tordek is unbalanced, his RefDef...
