AAAARRGGGHHH!!! (Or "Enough with the trilogies already!!!")

Snow Crash by Stephenson, To Reign in Hell by Brust, Good Omens by Pratchett and Gaiman, Calculating God by Sawyer, and of course, American Gods, but you knew that already. I'm a sucker for fantasy/sci fi about man's relation with God and stuff =) Of course, i'd also like to recommend a...

Just finished the first Lemony Snickett book in the Series of Unfortunate Events, and am now moving on to Loamhedge by Brian Jaques, the second most recent redwall book. Yeah, i know. I'm just feeling a little YA these days =)

    Going to hurl

I'm totally with you, mouse. i normally adore 7up and dnL and cherry 7up and all their products. but man, this stuff tasted like antibiotics that you got as a kid, right down to the chalky aftertaste. plus, that light pink color... ugh, the memory of that taste is just as bad... -_-

I miss the old D&D of the 00's

You know what? I _do_ miss the D&D of 2000. That was when i ran my first game (despite having played off and on for ten years) to a willing group of total newbies who i taught to play. We only had the 3e phb, since the DMG and MM hadnt come out yet, and nobody knew the rules well enough to be...

    D&D in India ?

yeah, which is why any attempt to make an rpg out of india would have to stick to the universal classics, aka the mahabharat, the ramayan, and the upanishads. Beyond that, it becomes way too complex to try to properly model. For a bit, i was toying with the idea of making regional feat...

    D&D in India ?

dude, when i was a kid, i had a toy bow and arrow, and a toy mace, and i used to run around pretending to be Ram or Hanuman, the way my neighbors would play cowboys and indians =) (i was always miffed to discover that my ancestors didnt actually run around with tomahawks and feathers in their...

    Dragonlance Books

heh. you guys do a disservice to the other 100 or so fun books in the series. Sure, there are about two hundred of em, but they can't all be winners =) I really recommend anything written by Chris Pierson, or by the pair of Paul Thompson and Tonya Cook. they write great DL.

    D&D in India ?

Yeah i am =) --- While doing my daily prayers today, some other mechanics occured to me. Any indian based game would have to have boon and curse rituals. You know, where you pray for a certain period of time, and are granted X, anywhere from a mantra to have a child with a divine sponsor...

    D&D in India ?

ok, so when last i went to india, two decembers ago, i was in Baroda, in Gujarat. I noticed that a lot of the city was starting to be wifi enabled, and there were internet centers popping up everywhere. Some of these had a few FPSes installed, but on the whole, i didnt notice much in the way...

Wilderness Maps - gridded or not?

i never learned how to use hexes or do that kind of wilderness travel. I played in 2nd ed, but never really learned the rules till 3e. So when i went and tried to run DL1 last year for some friends, i was totally confused about how they were supposed to go anywhere, and what was supposed to...

    Have enough books?

I've got enough raw rules data for me to be perfectly happy. Pretty much the only thing i'm gonna buy from here on out are Dragonlance setting books, unless something else comes to grab my attention. I've got more than enough crunch for my taste, and never enough fluff.
