What was the best moment of Gen Con for you?

For me, it was walking to the sovereign press booth and getting a hug from Weis and Hickman, and the whole dragonlance experience =) I love getting recognized by authors who saw my enworld badge and recognized my SN. Also, hanging out and chatting with my pal Stan! and his buddies from the...

What did we all think of Indy?

Regrets of GENCON: What did you wish you did pick up?

Half-Dragons. Do you used them? (And WotC's half-breed fetish)

The official DL explanation is that Half Dragons, as templated, don't exist on krynn, because the love of dragons and mortals is basically fated to end tragically. From a more mechanical standpoint, Margaret Weis has stated that Draconians and Dragonspawn basically fill the slot that a half...

    Funniest RPG typo ever?

My favorite typo is in the Dragonlance Key of Destiny module. Apparently, the ancient city of Hurim died out a long time ago, leaving ruins for folks to explore. Further examination of the text reveals why- the stone walls had a bread DC of 50! They must have been pretty hard up to try to eat...

Anybody got Towers of High Sorcery or War of the Lance at GENCON?

Anybody got Towers of High Sorcery or War of the Lance at GENCON?

i got them both, and they're both really damn good books. War of the Lance, especially, is the book Dragonlance fans have wanted since the chronicles ended back in 86. they're huge though, so it'll take a bit before i can review them.

    Dragonlance based on Mormonism?!?

well, i started hindu, and had some rough times, and then read a lot of DL, and felt better. It certainly impressed James Wyatt when we spoke about it =) You're right though, it is kinda interesting, and certainly not for these boards, but definatly why i'm a DL fan to the core =)

Why does tiny Australia kick ass at the Olympics, while giant India flounders?

I'm an indian. I've been to india many many times. that said, India is hampered by a super crappy infrastructure, which means that people just don't have the time for training hardcore as demanded by the olympics. When cricket becomes an olympic sport, perhaps this will change. Until then...

    Dragonlance based on Mormonism?!?

You know, it would be trivial, if Tracy didn't outright say as much. Have you ever read his essay on gaming and religion? Dragonlance, at its core, is very heavily christian, and as a subset, leans pretty LDS in theology. Only reason i care? Dragonlance is responsible for making me a...

    Dragonlance based on Mormonism?!?

Dragonlance is (especially in dragons of autumn twilight) pretty heavily based on mormon theology. I point to the disks of mishakal, which are direct analogs to the golden plates Smith found, the fall of the church of Istar, which is the Mormon view of the Catholic Church, the turning of man...

    Blandest d20 Product?

See, i love linguistics and cultural detail. I just don't like the linguistics and cultural detail of Kalamar =) I find it very textbooky, and really, i'd rather read real textbooks.
