The only real difference between a 'normal' game and a DL game is the story aspect. every adventure should be tied together. Even casual side quests and such should help build towards the giant epic climax. It's very possible to thwart a minor bad guy and disrupt the evil plan long enough to...

well, Amber and Ashes turned out fine (i have an advanced copy). The book really affected by her divorce, imo, was _Mistress of Dragons_. Man, that book screams in relationship pain.

i think, rather than hoping eberron is a flop, i want it to be so successful that gamers who discover the joy of roleplay through it decide they want to sample what else is out there, and in turn give companies more reason to support their own settings to help give the masses more choice in...

at first level, summon monster is really summarize monster...as in, an image pops up for six seconds, and you spend the time describing what it can do to your opponant, and then it dissapears. Kinda like a power point presentation or something...

i can't imagine why any discerning gamer wouldnt have BOTH of these in their collection. Carcassonne for smaller groups, Catan for bigger ones. both have seen equal use in my house, and both are regarded with equal joy =)
