My Paladin killed a child molester (and now my DM wants to take away my powers!)

was inflicting subdual damage (hilt of the sword, gauntlet to the side of the head etc) somehow not an option? In my campaign, the party ran into a situation similar to this (a commoner was drunk and assaulting a female kender, and the paladin took him out), and i responded by forcing a light...

    24 (5/18) SPOILERS - When Cougars Attack part 2

i'm still holding out hope that the last episode will show that one vial of the virus is released in CTU, modified to only affect Chloe. She's seriously the most annoying person on that show, and every episode i am dissapointed that she managed to live another hour =)

    Cards as alternatives to dice?

for a while, Dragonlance fifth age used the woefully ignored SAGA system, which used a cool card based system well suited for the storytelling style of DL.

Your WotC spending: More on Minis or Books?

god, i spend at least 10 times as much on minis as i do on wotc books. last year i bought the Dragonlance campaign setting, the mini handbook, complete warrior, draconomicon, vile darkness, and the 3.5 stuff. this upcoming year, i only see myself getting the other three completes, and maybe...

Is Railroading ever a good tactic?

railroading is the derogatory way of defining second edition gaming. aka, you have a plot, and you want your players to do it, so most of what they do funnels into this plot, and if they're sidetracked, you gently (or forcibly, as it were) nudge them back to your main plot. First edition, otoh...

Has anyone run the entire Dragonlance saga?

the novels and the modules came out roughly simultaniously. the first arc dictated book 1, but the second and third arcs were more based on the novel than the other way around. If your players have no idea, its not a big deal, but as a DM i hate running the war of the lance for folks who don't...

heya folks. scanning the forum shows me that there are a ton of map threads filled with all sorts of cool dungeons and stuff. Anyone know if one of them has a manor where a rich person might live, with perhaps a dungeon/prison area where he'd store people who arent in favor with him? I have...

    The Passion of the Christ

frankly i adored the movie, but for completely different reasons than virtually everyone else. as a linguaphile, hearing spoken dialog in latin and aramaic filled me with such glee that i actually sat and watched the whole film twice, once with a notebook in hand to take down cool phrases...
