well, i'm currently running two separate ones, and all i need is a map and a story i want to tell. but i like having fleshed out campaign books so i know whats on my map and whats in my story.

ok, dragonlance subscribes to the tolkien theory of the "Castle on the Hill", where the castle is there, but is left fully to the imagination to flesh out. Thusly, no one is constrained by one fixed image or what have you. this works great for novels, or one shot settings, or campaigns like...

my favorite non dragonlance rpg book is Urban Arcana. Not just because i'm a named npc in it (thank you, Stan!), but because it's a joy to read and a font of really cool campaign ideas, like my insurance company of elemental evil concept =)

what is the government of solamnia? how many people live in tarsis? just what is in nordmaar? are there any minor organizations, or do the Knights of Solamnia, the WoHS, and the KoT run everything? You know, stuff that the FRCS provides? aka, the details needed to run a campaign that doesnt...

eh, technicalities =) i'm not an FR sage by any means. suffice to say, the first two series of FR novels took place in far parts of the world from each other, and thus allowed for a lot of room to adventure in between. let's put it this way- you hear of drizz't clones, but never of people...

no. absolutly not. god, no. If it had gone down that path for a fifth time (original modules, DL classics, Tales of the Lance, DL15th anniversary) then the setting would be derided as a one horse wonder who rode that poor mount to death and raised it via foul necromantic means. AKA the way...

the thing is, they didnt do that. the DLCS and AoM mainly hit the 'current' timeline of dragonlance. and honestly, the setting detail isnt to the level that i or other hardcores desire. I'm not quite sure what they filled the pages with, but it seems mainly to be a compendium of dragonlance...

the war of the lance setting book is coming this year at gencon, in honor of the 20th anniversary of dragonlance.

wotc is currently down. otherlands is fun, but the Time of the Dragon box is one of the best settings tsr made, back in the boxset heyday =)

the books have been greatly delayed due to a number of reasons. first, the company is down to basically Margaret, Jamie and Renee. Second, they severed ties with FFE for distribution. third, there were issues in getting the books to the printers. As it stands, currently both Key of Destiny...

yeah, alignment domains have been assigned, as have most elemental domains, to the seasonal dieties. This guy is kinda outside the pantheon. I'll check those in the FRCS out, though. thanks =)

actually, after looking at it, i think that what was bugging me is that the font is very bright. is it possible to tone it down one step?
