    Simplify Weapons and Armor?

I would love this sort of simplification. Actually, I would love it if equipment joined alignment and elements on the 'list of things whose only mechanic is to add a descriptor to a character or action.' Let players define their weapons as whatever they like, without mechanical impact. But...

D&D 4E Are there still going to be Alignment requirements for core classes in 4E?

This seems like a much better way to handle alignment restrictions. Essentially, it extrapolates from the Good Clerics Turn/Evil Clerics Rebuke split and uses that same sort of thing for multiple classes. Could produce some very interesting results. :)

    D&D 4E the Price of 4E

How about equipment with improved or new/different features, since that's what we're talking about here? How about upgraded cameras every few years? How about the at least one order of magnitude difference in the base price? Not that I'm defending a $50 price point, exactly, because I'm not...

Promoting the entire party's experience level at the same time

I've never actually played in a campaign that did this, but I have RUN campaigns this way. Although, I didn't actually track XP, I just leveled the party every time they completed a major goal.

+1'd. You can't get much more metal than this. :)

    Flaws for Rogues?

For the would-be social rogue who thinks he's twice as clever as he really is: Sna-Fu You have a gift for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Prerequisite: Trained in any two of Bluff, Diplomacy and Intimidate Effect: Whenever you fail a Bluff, Diplomacy or Intimidate check, the target's...

What other games do you play?

The fact that a heavy crossbow pointed at your head really means something? ;) Seriously, though, my problem with GURPS is that I feel it scratches a similar gaming itch to HERO and Mutants and Masterminds, but isn't effects-based out of the box. I've only once done GURPS with the supplement...

What Supplement Monsters Deserve a Promotion to Core?

I don't see how your objection follows from the quoted passage. Just because a second creature whose schtick is breathing fire gets rejected, there's no reason to assume a third creature whose schtick is randomly generating salad will be taken in. Concepts have to be different from each other...

    Savage Worlds for Spelljammer

Saga is pretty much a liter, looser and much more MOVEMENT focused d20 variant. Easy to learn and use, with more tweaks to make it cinematic. Offhand, I can't remember what, if any, combat actions were loosened up from feats in it, though. Agreed. Honestly, I think the next time I do...

    AD&D 2E Which 2e campaign setting should make a comeback in 4e?

I'd actively like to see Spelljammer and Dark Sun updated. However, I'd like the updates to come in the form of: 1. A single hardcover (OK, I would like a softcover because that's what I prefer, but that's not gonna happen :P) providing the basics of the setting, some key monsters, any new...

    Savage Worlds for Spelljammer

I prefer Star Wars Saga Edition for a Tactics/RPG take on Spelljammer (easier conversion, near-zero conversion for the material with a 3e rerelease) and Spirit of the Century for a different way of handling it. Nonetheless, I can totally see using Savage Worlds, too. Definitely a better fit...

    Gaming Groups and their OS's

100% Windows. At least one ALSO has a Mac, and another uses Linux for everything but electronic gaming. However, both are, in fact, electronic gamers and understand that most of the software they want is only available for the PC. Actually, the Mac-user seems to prefer his PC anyway, probably...

The Great Wheel Cosmology as an "assumed part of a D&D world"

Whereas easily 75% of the games I've played that referenced the planes at all did NOT use the Great Wheel, yet retained the 'Bigby's' series of spells. Of those 25% that used the Great Wheel, most were explicitly Planescape campaigns.

D&D 4E What period of D&D art would you most like to see 4E emulate?

I picked 'late AD&D/2e,' and was specifically thinking of Jeff Easley's work and Brom's Dark Sun work. Their styles are not necessarily my favorites when it comes to fantasy art in general, but out of those used for D&D in the past, they definitely rise to the top.

You know what I'd like to see go away?

 Er... yes you can. It specifically calls out in the feat that you can power attack with unarmed strikes and natural weapons.

Finding the sweet spot in Orc and Pie

95%. However, this is just an abstract, theoretical answer. I generally prefer combat systems where the results are botch/critical fail/miss (5%), regular success (90%) and critical success (5%), except when targeting something specifically twinked for evasion. This is closer to the console...

No Love for the Dragon Turtle?

I've always thought dragon turtles were cool, but, as mentioned above, they seem hard to use. Also, I've always pictured them much larger and more physically imposing than they are listed as in the 3e MM. "Huge" doesn't cut it when you're talking about passing for an island while at rest, nor...

"4th Edition will assume roughly 10 encounters per level"

I'm guessing they'll adopt the SWSE rule that you can spend an Action Point (well, a 'Force Point' in Star Wars, but they work the same) to convert 'dead' into 'unconscious.' With that simple change, the chance, indeed, the expectation that one or more PCs will go down in a typical fight...

How do you prefer to earn/award XPs?

For systems where I prefer to use XP, I like to have players set character goals and GMs set campaign goals, and to hand out XP as those or completed. Mostly games like HERO or SilCore where you gain comparatively small amounts at a time. For d20, I usually prefer to just use one session/one...

    A Gentleperson's Wager: Druids in the PHB1

Assuming 'druid' doesn't go back to its roots and become a cleric talent tree, I think it's very possible. I can't see the druid having a 'new power source,' so it doesn't really fit in PHB2 or later, and by all accounts I've seen it's one of the most popular classes with new female players. I...
