    Do you DM?

Yes, Not as often as I would like (rarely in the poll).

    What to Run

Lost City of Barakus gives an area description and adventures supposedly for levels 1-5, but I'd say that the tougher encounters could easily need a stronger party and with some side quests from Dungeon or elsewhere you could easily take a party to about level 8 or so with it.

DM's: How many PC's do you kill per campaign?

Rarely more than 1-2 as I use a fate point system which allows characters to avoid accidental deaths, so it's more when a player wants to go for it to start a new character and doesn't want the old one retired.

Rereading Master and Commander by Patrick O'Brien, Warhammer Fantasy Battle and the associated Lizardmen army book, The Battle for Spain by Anthony Beevor.

Anyone Thinking about Gen Con UK?

I went to the last one in London and it was pretty empty compared to Dragonmeet which suffers in numbers from its December date. I'll probably go to Reading as it's not a big trip from London and I've got gaming friends that live there.

What Would Your Campaign/Setting's Inspirational Reading List Be?

A lot is the same as other people for my Wilderlands campaigns: R.E. Howard - Conan, Kull and the other fiction Fritz Leiber - Lankhmar stories H.P. Lovecraft Jack Vance - Dying Earth Michael Moorcock - Elric stories Kim Newman/Jack Yeovil - Anno Dracula and the related stories, Warhammer FRP...

Would you be satisifed with d20 as your only RPG? [Ties into RyanD's blog entry.]

No, I'd be decidedly unhappy not to keep playing Runequest2, Paranoia and Warhammer FRP. In fact I'm more likely to abandon D20/OGL games though I do like Castles & Crusades and Conan RPG and probably am keener on D20 Modern than 3e D&D.

    D&D 4E 3.75E or 4E?

I'm pretty sure 4e is coming for commercial reasons at some point, but I'm not sure exactly when. Personally it'll be pretty much zero impact as I use 3.5 for what D&D I do and I'm moving to other games like C&C or WFRP for my roleplaying these days.

    When building a new PC...

I tend to have the idea first and then go to find how to represent it mechanically.

Would you play D&D in a public place?

I have, but there are other games that are easier to play than D&D because they are less affected by interruptions. Like most Brits it seems I have played in the pub, and when I was at school in the library.

More the merrier? I don't think so.

Personal preference as both player and GM is 4-5 players and one GM, I have run for 7 IIRC, but I find it tricky in face to face gaming.

How comprehensive do you want your RPG game system rules?

I like to create rulings for things not covered by the rules (come to think of it I like to change the RAW too). One of my favourite games for this is C&C where the Siege Engine allows a situation to be resolved, but withou a heap of detailed rules just the GM needing to decide how hard it is...

    CR/EL System View

For me its a useful tool, but has enough clear weaknesses that it is guideline only.

What version of D&D is your favorite to play?

Out of those poll options v3.5 is my favourite, but in reality it is OD&D(1974) where I find myself agreeing with Diaglo...

    What settings do you love?

Well the Wilderlands can fit all of those in as well as most other things given how flexible it is. Of course the non-d20 warhammer setting really fits.

What are the best classes to start a new player on?

Well I'm a bit late to the party and I think that my choices wouldn't be really different: Fighter - probably the easiest and best choice for a newcomer Sorceror - the easiest of the spellcasters for a newbie Rogue - tricker than either of the other two, but not everyone wants to play an out and...

No Dr. Who thread for 12/15?

Fear Her was a weak episode, but not as awful as I think the messge boards make out. Next two episodes to close the season are brilliant though.
