I've never said "boni" before but I'm going to start now, just to be contrary.

    Ending a Campaign Gracefully?

Would a "Wild Bunch" style ending be considered "graceful"? I've always wanted to end a campaign that way. :D

    Red Hand Of Doom, questions

Would you say that a group of 5 players at 4th level would get slaughtered in RHoD? Right now I'm running a DCC, which if I'm lucky will get the PCs to 4th level. Not to jack the OP's thread (although I think the question was answered), but can anyone think of a nice adventure leading up to...

Identify the Major Damage-Dealing Prestige Classes

I've seen some pretty wicked damage dealers using the Tempest prestige class from Complete Warrior.

Info from the WotC 2007 January to April Catalog

I've actually got quite a bit of good mileage out of the Complete books (with the exception of Complete Divine), so I'll probably pick up Complete Scoundrel. Complete Adventurer and Complete Mage, IMO, have been excellent, so I'm hoping CS continues the trend. Besides, I'm one of those...

What have you stolen lately for your game?

Nice! Those books are just chock full of great stuff to stea... inspire a GM. I always thought Sethra Lavode would be a fun character to use in a D&D game. Just not fun to even begin to assign game stats to her or any of the Great Weapons.

    0-level spells?

Resistance, Detect Magic and Read Magic used fairly often in our group.

    Swashbuckler feat?

Elusive Target is a very popular choice. It's a fairly powerful Tactical feat and it happens to fit in with the traditional view of the agile swashbuckler. That said, the Combat Expertise tree is also pretty nifty considering you won't be wearing heavy armor or (most likely) carrying a shield...

    Action Points -- Too Good?

We've been using the Eberron version of Action Points in our games and it's worked out really well. As a player I like the ability to get that little "extra" when I'm trying something really outrageous or the stakes are high. It's fun to see everyone blowing action points every round when the...

After the core, what is the "must have" 3.5 book?

Those are two of my choices also. Spell Compendium + the PHB gives you as many spells and cleric domains as you'll probably ever want. PHB II, as mentioned, has a ton of nice variant class features (many good for DM's who hate familiars and animal companions) and also has feats that make high...

    [October] What are you reading?

Currently reading Keith Francis Strohm's "Bladesinger". Not much to do with Bladesingers, but, ah, not as bad as the reviews led me to believe. Next up is either "Thieves of the Blood" by Tim Waggoner or the Del Rey Solomon Kane collection.

    No Second Season For Blade

I liked it too. I suppose it just wasn't dumb enough for the Spike network. Oh well, at least they've got another hour to show "World's Most Dangerous Circus Clowns", "When House Cats Attack II" and professional wrestling.

All these Classes to choose from...... Oh My!

That's a good point. The only downside to the mithral plate, for me, is being stuck with a specific set of armor. As a player, I'd like having the option to pick up any cool magical set of plate that happens to be in the treasure hoard o' the day and not have to worry about arcane spell...

All these Classes to choose from...... Oh My!

Hopefully the Complete Mage book will add a little more flexibility with more invocations (and maybe some good Warlock feats), but the class does come down to blasting, blasting and then blasting again. Kind of like a Fantasy version of Cyclops. ;) I haven't played a Duskblade yet, but I...

All these Classes to choose from...... Oh My!

I own PHB II, Complete Warrior, Complete Arcane and Complete Adventurer. Although I think some of the base classes in the Complete books are kind of bland and boring, I wouldn't prohibit them in any game I was running. I particularly like: Warlock (Complete Arcane) Scout (Complete Adventurer)...

    A question about swords

I think that's a bit of a fallacy, at least if you're talking about 16th century "zweihander" swords. Everything I've read recently (including stuff from ARMA) came to the conclusion that these swords were long, but not as heavy as one would think and definitely not dull. Recent research seems...

Who do you consider an Anti-Hero in fiction?

I don't know...I'd consider fratricide to be the stuff of anti-heroism. I'd also say that Littlefinger and Bronn have virtually no redeeming qualities; Bronn is a killer for hire and, as I recall, never demonstrated any heroic tendencies, and certainly nothing resembling honor or loyalty. I...

Who do you consider an Anti-Hero in fiction?

Yeah, Marv is definitely an anti-hero. He seems to have his own twisted moral code and the whole thing with Goldie shows the "softer side of Marv". On the other hand, he's an insane, murdering, torturing, thieving thug... I think the only character in Sin City close to being a traditional...

    Amazon not yet shipping Ptolus?

I don't think Amazon has bothered to explain that in their 10+ years of doing business.

    No love for the ranger?

Agreed. I think the extra spells in the Compendium really give the Ranger the extra edge they needed. Favored enemy should be pretty useful if you're a follower of the Silver Flame in Karrnath...undead, anyone? :D
