Adding another log. Lightning Panther Strike.

It means the smell of roasted cat is in the air? Wait, maybe that's Panther Lightning Strike.

    And the mystery race is...hated

Eberron has gnomes as information brokers and fantasy telegraph operators. I think that's a cool twist but still doesn't seem quite right for a heroic PC. It still feels more like a support role. I guess I just don't really care for gnomes. I don't hate 'em, but I wouldn't play one either...

    And the mystery race is...hated

Dragonborn sound like they could be fun. I'd certainly consider playing one. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'd take dragonborn or tieflings over gnomes any day of the week. I can't recall anyone in our group playing a gnome on purpose (stinkin' reincarnations!). I can explain "lizard-y...

Do you like the name "Golden Wyvern Adept"?

I think I mentally remove those names from the spells. I'm not down with that old-timey Greyhawk stuff either. ;) But seriously, as someone else here mentioned it's really easy to remove the names from the spells. Acid Arrow, nice and neat. I don't even know who Melf is supposed to be...

Do you like the name "Golden Wyvern Adept"?

I can only speak for myself, but I feel that the name has flavor that doesn't fit in with any of the campaign's I'd be playing with D&D but it's also not descriptive at all. I could "fix" it along with other feats named like it (Emerald Frost, Dragon Tail, etc.) to fit in Forgotten Realms or...

Do you like the name "Golden Wyvern Adept"?

I'd House Rule that even if you have Spell Resistance you still have to tap your foot a bit. The rhythm's gonna get ya!

Do you like the name "Golden Wyvern Adept"?

That's OK for a setting book, but the PHB sounds like it's going to have only a bit of an implied setting. At least I hope there's not going to be a ton of setting material in the PHB since that would be wasted space for me.

D&D 4E Why the 4e hate on Wilbur?

I think Wilbur should demonstrate how deadly those 100' falls are in 4E, or maybe how the new disintegrate rules work. Wilbur is like the D&D version of Buster from the Mythbusters. I can't wait to see how they mangle him next week!

    Battlestar Galatica Razor

I think "Razor" added a little more depth to Cain and the Pegasus crew than that. Cain didn't just "go crazy". IMO, it was nice to see her as something more than the cardboard cutout we saw in BSG. Shaw was a bit of a throw away character, but I suppose they felt they needed to tell the story...

Do you like the name "Golden Wyvern Adept"?

Yeah, that's the main thing bothering me. I think the names sound silly and I don't really want to cram them and/or their corresponding groups in to Eberron or FR. The only other choices would be to just handwave the whole thing and use the names out of game only or rename every single...

Do you like the name "Golden Wyvern Adept"?

Agreed. I won't use Golden Wyvern Adept as a name in-game since I think it sounds goofy, but I don't really care about it as a meta-game rules thing like Power Attack, Combat Expertise, etc. I also won't use the Golden Wyvern organization since I don't need non-setting specific groups; have...

Still no SRD for 3rd party companies

Well, you may see some companies rushing products out the door trying to release close the the core book launch. If publishers get the SRD when the PHB is on shelves I wouldn't be suprised if they'd feel pressure to get a book to print to get in on the initial popularity of 4E.

I think Orcs are the mystery race...

Yeah. Um, nothing to see here. Move along.

    Jonathan Tweet denounces Power Attack

Ya know, the longer this debate goes on I am starting to change my position on power attack. Calculating average damages and poring over spreadsheets to find the amount of PA that provides the most damage vs. any given AC just isn't my idea of fun, at or away from the table. The whole thing is...

I think Orcs are the mystery race...

Four more words: Victorian Era British Hippo Men Errrr, no. Actually I'd like to see orcs as a PHB race if they were more like Orcs in Eberron. Less grunting brute and more nature-attuned. I'd love to see orcs take the "best woodsmen in the realm" crown from the elves since the little...

    D&D 4E 4e price increase?

It's also worth noting that Sony is selling a cheaper PS3 with some functionality removed. It would be like WotC deciding that they can sell more PHB copies if they make a soft-cover, black and white "pocket sized" version. Hey, that's actually something I'd want!

    D&D 4E 4e price increase?

$120 for years worth of fun isn't a bad deal. I'm sure I could find better "deals" for entertainment if I really wanted to but it doesn't really work that way with things like books, movies, music, etc. I doubt many people are cross shopping D&D, Exalted and Savage Worlds; it doesn't really...

    Jonathan Tweet denounces Power Attack

Underperforming? Power attack? I think Power Attack was many things, but underperforming wasn't one of 'em. It was pretty much a no-brainer for anyone wielding a two-handed weapon (except for maybe the party wizard with his staff). I think this is one situation where overly enthusiastic...
