    D&D 5E (2014) Best designed classes in 5e

Exaggerated emphasis yours, not mine. No, it really isn't... you are better off just going light armor at that point and pure dex focused since it is your primary stat with that awesome dagger. Dex, Wisdom, Con is a little MAD but not terrible. At very low level, yes that is true. It...

    D&D 5E (2014) Best designed classes in 5e

It's subpar compared to the rest. Their armor being medium is non-functional without a feat tax. They don't get weapon proficiency to support better combativeness, which leaves them neither stealthy or terribly combat capable off the bat. You really have to go with a Dex build, but they get...

Best Classes: Monk, Rogue, Paladin, Wizard, Cleric, Warlock Worst: Barbarian (Frenzy), Cleric (Thievery), Monk (Elemental), Ranger, Ranger, Ranger

D&D 5E (2014) What class fills the tank role best? Fighter, Barbarian, Cleric or Paladin?

Fighter 2, Protection style, Second wind for minor self heals and action surge for whatever you need. Paladin 6, Defense Style, Lay on Hands, defensive buff spells and aura of saving throws for everyone. Don't forget the Heavy Armor Master and Inspiring feat for extra tank. The rest is up to...

"Dust" and "Midway" - Codenames for Upcoming D&D Hardcovers

The more I think on it, the more I start to feel it will be an Oriental Adventures type book. With the Wu Jen, and Sohei clearly called out, psionics coming forth (with the concept that they seem to be eastern flavored magic). Several other UA subclasses seem to lean that direction as well. It...

D&D 5E (2014) Blade Pact Warlocks and Conventional Wisdom

True enough and I want to try to bring The Blade pact up to par with others, while not saying "replaced with the Hexblade", but maybe that is honestly the answer.

D&D 5E (2014) Blade Pact Warlocks and Conventional Wisdom

So, I'm thinking: What I am looking at changing for warlock: This along with limiting Agonizing Blast to 30'. Thoughts? Is it too much?

D&D 5E (2014) How to bring back Dungeon Magazine and Dragon Magazine - Crate Edition

I would definitely subscribe to Dungeon. Unearthed Arcana is exactly what they should be doing for traditional Dragon magazine content (With published rules later). DM's guild has definitely *not* filled the niche for pre-written adventures. I mean, it's fine if you need 1000 level 1-4...

D&D 5E (2014) How to bring back Dungeon Magazine and Dragon Magazine - Crate Edition

All someone has to do is start a Dungeon Monthly magazine and split the profits among the contributors. If I had the free time to manage it I would consider it as a side hobby. 20% for the magazine organization, and the other 80% split between up to 4 contributors per month the value of which...

D&D 5E (2014) What Rules do you see people mistake or misapply?

And as a DM you can *STILL* do so. You say, The invisible stalker / statue has a stealth check of XYZ. The PC's only get Passive perception, and if that number isn't high enough, they don't notice the invisibility (unless they are actively looking). With a +10 skill, and invisible, a passive...

D&D 5E (2014) What Rules do you see people mistake or misapply?

This is all exceptional theory crafting though, because the DM should just assume the Invisible Stalker took its time to stealth. There is really never an instance in which the Stalker will ever run into the extremes developed in this thread.

O.o I just can't even take this serious.

D&D 5E (2014) What Rules do you see people mistake or misapply?

Oh, I apologize. I thought when you said you had a player that always debated this way, you were talking about something relevant to the conversation. I didn't realize you were talking about a fictitious situation in which this never happened, and isn't actually a problem. Or people who...

D&D 5E (2014) What Rules do you see people mistake or misapply?

Except it isn't :) The fact that you quoted what I said, then linked to the point I made as a way of stating your stance, didn't change that I still said "it's sage advice, not RAW". I'm sorry you have trouble with your players/game this way. Still RAW. Agreed, and had you read the rest of...

D&D 5E (2014) What Rules do you see people mistake or misapply?

I've been saying the opposite. There is no tactical advantage, is an RP/story benefit only. It isn't a bonus to hit, ours a benefit the DM chooses when to apply to certain characters. (Because it only happens when the DM decides "this would be good for story right now".

D&D 5E (2014) What Rules do you see people mistake or misapply?

Now you are just getting desperate to argue, having been shown you don't know the meaning of the word you challenged. The DM is defacto the ultimate authority in their game. Long rests happen when they say they do, not any other time. If they randomly roll it's because they CHOSE to determine...

D&D 5E (2014) What Rules do you see people mistake or misapply?

Are you aware of what arbitrary means? Literally means random OR personal whim. Like a judgement call by your DM, or randomly with dice. Exactly like I said and exactly what it means:
