What did you like about Warhammer Fantasy?

We've been playing the Enemy within campaign for the last couple of years and it was a blast! I just feel unfortunate not to have been there at the beginning as I joined the campaign halfway thru as a replacement player. Right now we're back at square one with Kreutzhoven and Death's dark...

Do you sit when you DM?

Generaly I like to stand (and walk arround) when the attention is necesary "on the table" as when the players have to work stuff out amongst themselves. I'll also stand/walk when roleplaying NPC's and the situation requires it. (eg a Justicar interogating the party should hover ominously over...

[OT] Sad news - Richard Harris, the actor playing Professor Dumbledore died.

Sad news indeed. And here's another great gift he left us with: Gladiator, in which he played the Roman Emperor. I can only hope to approximate this mans life! 72 years of age and still bussy acting! What I can say is thanx for a great legacy of fantastic movies !

Traditional RPG is dying - Open Dome Gaming is the way forward!

"Telepresence"? NO WAY Are computers going to become more prominent in RPG gaming? YES Is "telepresence" and software to allow remote access to virtual playing worlds going to influence the gaming community? YES Will I investigate this evolution and try out this stuff? YES BUT ...

Playing D&D without study or preparation.

Basicaly I think you should prepare. In my opinion there's only 2 kinds of DM's that can get away with not preparing. Either a DM with ages of expierience (who knows his world in en out wether it's published or self penned) or a Dm who's written his own world (but I think that's cheating...

    Your Most Embarrassing RPG Moment

cariage fun After finishing "Power behind the throne" (part 3 in the "Enemy within" campaign for Warhammer Fantasy RPG) where I played Reinhold Gottesfrieden, a templar of the Fiery Heart and chosen of Sigmar, we rolled up some brandnew characters for some inbetween action. This time I was...

Do you/have you played any non-D&D/d20 Fantasy RPGs?

My selection I can't give you a list of all existing rpg's, but I can get you started by giving you the ones I play/DM in: As a DM I use DnD3E As a player I have characters running in - AD&D2e - Ars Magica - Warhammer Fantasy RPG - Call of Cthulhu At some point in time I've had characters...

Total Party Kill -- How do you recover?

Open rolling should not be a problem Open rolling should not be a problem! a) Whenever a player/group asks me to roll in the open I'll warn them about the dangers and ask them if they still want me to roll open. Once they say roll open, they'll have to swallow whatever comes their way, but...

The Best Magic (and stuff) System of them All!

I voted for Sovereign Stone because of those noted I like that one best. But I would like to add that the mana-based system of Everquest RPG is also very high on my like-list and the Ars Magica system merits at least interest for their on-the-fly spell creating rules.

Who would you like to draw your character?

I had my character drawn by Todd Lockwood... YEAH I went to one of the couple of Gencon Benelux fairs in holland. It was shortly after the release of the PHB. The game store I volunteered for (shamefull plug ... Celtic Cross Antwerp) had set asside a copy for all volunteers and , lo and behold...

    Alternative to PCGen?

Re: Couple of Things Sorry to snip most of your post (it's still there just a couple of posts higher ;-) ) For my 2 cents worth I would like to add: There are more programs about that deliver FUNCTIONALITY and no content, that content being provided by the community. Check out ARMYBUILDER...

    Coolest weapon from literature?

My vote would go to Benelux, the Justicar's sword. Everytime I think back at the indignation shown by this sentient sword made of positive energy over the need to replace it's hilt with the old wolf-skull hilt of the Justicar's previous black sword ... Funny nobody mentioned any of the swords...

    frustrating problem with etools!

Since eTools actualy uses IE to parse the XML and transform it via XSL sheets, about the only thing you can do is make shure you have all the latest updates for your version of windows and the latest release of IE.

    More lay-offs at WOTC! [Merged]

You're right, I have never been in management, but I assure you they exist! Case in point: What is going on in the firm I work for (an international bank). Five years ago, we as a local branch of a European bank were bought up by this international bank. Originaly our new shareholder promised...

    More lay-offs at WOTC! [Merged]

Thanx for the details, makes stuff a lot clearer. Doesn't remove the potential though. Hasbro can still sit on the license, chocking it to death. Lets just hope there civilized about the whole deal. Why am I so scared? Because its suits making the decision and I've had bad expieriences before...
