D&D General Requesting Advice on FR Pantheon

Huh. I remember aspects of deities being a thing back in 3e, but with the power level inverted from your suggestion – basically, aspects being lesser forms of avatars, and usually having a challenge rating appropriate for when Sean Connery shows up at Wimbledon (10ish). You could eventually...

D&D General 70% Of Games End At Lvl 7?

Highest level I've gotten to as a player is 13th I think, in a PF2 game using the Age of Ashes adventure path. That campaign got put on hiatus because one of the players got changed priorities. The game itself worked pretty well at that level though, and I finally got to use my "speak with...

Itch.io is shadowbanning or deleting NSFW and LGBTQ content

My understanding of Collective Shout is that they are primarily, for lack of a better term, shame-based. They know they don't have a legal leg to stand on, so their primary means of influence is to say "How dare you make money off of this filth!?" I think they have unsuccessfully tried to get...

D&D General 70% Of Games End At Lvl 7?

Come to think of it, another reason the majority of campaigns end at early levels is that that gives you time to run more campaigns. A level 20 campaign is probably going to take like 2-3 years, and you'll easily have time to run 4 campaigns that end at level 7 in that time span.

D&D General Requesting Advice on FR Pantheon

Given how many gods FR has and how specialized they are, I think it would be hard to whittle them down to 20 or fewer. At that count, there's always going to be "but what about God X, they deserve to be in there too!" What I would suggest is categorizing them in some fashion, so instead of...

It wouldn't. Here in Europe, you either get non-specific blue cheese (though here in Sweden, we usually differentiate between green and blue cheese in ways English apparently doesn't do) or get a different kind of named cheese, e.g. Danablu, Cambozola, or Stilton.

They're not just based on place of origin – they're for specific types of cheese produced in those locations. So Parmesan doesn't refer to any cheese produced in Parma, but specifically to a particular type of hard cheese made from milk from cows fed exclusively on grass and made in a particular...

John Kovalic Looks Back On Over Two Decades Of Munchkin

The problem with mixing Munchkin sets is that things get diluted so it gets harder to get synergies. It's been a while since I played the game, but IIRC the original has a Sneaky Bastard Sword that only Thieves can use, and there are other cards that require other classes and/or races to use. If...

Itch.io is shadowbanning or deleting NSFW and LGBTQ content

Itch has apparently updated their creator FAQ with the following guidelines to things that are verboten: Some might think "good, I don't want any of that nasty business being sold." I'd like to point out that A Song of Ice and Fire, a series of books that have gotten some critical and...

Generally speaking, I believe the people working at a company are better suited to making decisions about that company – at least when we're talking about a company with a multitude of institutional investors. A single owner or a small group of owners with a direct interest are a different...

Internet Archive Is Now a Federal Library, Will Offer US Documents Online for Free

I believe it refers to the federal government (as opposed to individual states). From a British perspective, this would concern things on the UK level as opposed to Scottish/English/Welsh/Northern Irish level or individual county levels. Though the analogy isn't perfect as I believe US states...

    RPG-style Board Games

I don't know. I remember watching a Youtube review of Eldritch Horror where the reviewer complained about how random the game was and your choices not really having much impact. I think the reviewer missed the fact that while it's not totally deterministic, most types of tasks strongly lean...

That just goes to show that investors should be kept as far as possible away from the actual running of a company. Mel Brooks had the right idea.

That's a good point. If the payment processors take the stance "We won't interfere with any legal sales", that's a pretty solid stance that's hard to attack. You think that crap should be illegal? Take it up with the government or with the platform, but as long as it's legal we won't interfere...

Itch.io is shadowbanning or deleting NSFW and LGBTQ content

Yes. It might not be to my tastes, but playing a villain in a game is not the same as performing or condoning villainous acts IRL. Or should we condemn and prosecute Ian McKellen for his attempts at genocide when playing Magneto? Or Ben Kingsley for his sadistic murders in Se7en?

    Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

Yeah, but in this case it was the same artist drawing a deliberate homage to his own earlier cover, including choosing similar characters in the second one (Human Torch – Sun Boy, Mr Fantastic – Brainiac-5, Invisible Woman – Invisible Kid, and Thing – Blok) and putting them in the exact same poses.

I think you mean 1982, not 1961. And both covers are John Byrne.
