    Schrödinger, The Flux-Warped Kittie

Here are some suggestions: 1. Random musical effects: If you have it, play the theme from the Pink Panther movies, Love Cats by the Cure, or even the Thudercats cartoon theme song. 2. Random dialogue: Maybe record something from a television show and have it play. Possibly a conversation is...

    Oh, those hilarious Evony ads...

The ads seem to promise entertainment for what H.L. Mencken termed the booboisie. ;) Maybe someone should take Morrus up on his offer to seek advertisers. In a community this large, there should be someone with the skills and background to go over ads from potential advertisers and make a good...

Chicago Gameday XXIII is July 18th: SIGN UP!

I voted. I will have to check out one local place that was mentioned by Goodman Games. However, until I see evidence otherwise, I believe that Games Plus remains the best game store in the known universe. Best wishes for a great Gameday from someone who is now too far to drive in for the events.

    Free RPG Day is Saturday!

Done for Mortal Plague, Mark! Mortal plague's generosity is an example to us all.

    Free RPG Day is Saturday!

Maybe the clerk at the store I visited was confused, but I did not get anything. However, there were a lot of people playing games, so I will give the store a chance. It does seem to be a good place to game.

WotC president Greg Leeds and I!!!

Many of my questions have been asked, but I will chime in with a few. "How does WotC plan to attract more people to RPGs? Are there any special products planned or special initiatives with organizations like the RPGA?" "Will older edition products be available in some electronic form in the...

    I love PirateCat!

I love Piratecat and was glad to meet him a few times in Milwaukee for Gen Con -- especially that first informal EN World meetup so many years ago. (I think half of us ran over to Major Goolsby's to grab sandwiches.) Thanks for all you do here!

I'll give XP to those who earn it!

Ah, but there are so many uses for canes. Baseball bat, cricket bat, tent stake, and a lever. Say, what can you do with a long enough lever.....? SPOILER! . . . . . . . . . . . .

    D&D's Army

Count me in, Edena! William Ronald D&D will survive, not just because there is a financial interest for it to do so, but because we who love this hobby will keep it alive. I have been playing since 1980, and I have seen far worse times for gaming than the present. I have seen paranoia, bone...

WotC puts a stop to online sales of PDFs

I am still going over this complicated affair, but I would like to make a few comments based on what I have read so far. All businesses, I believe, depend heavily on their reputation. Indeed, perhaps credibility is the ONLY thing that companies have in the end. If you have faith in a company...

    Dave Arneson Death Confirmed

Rest in peace, Dave Arneson. You leave behind a new hobby, that has brought many people together and provided years of fun. You have helped people forge new friendships and bring joy into a world that needs it. Thank you for your work and your life. May you rest in peace and may all who...

    Pray for Dave Arneson!

I am keeping Dave Arneson and his family in my thoughts and prayers tonight. He and Gary Gygax have a wonderful legacy -- they created a new hobby that has brought many good people together to have fun and form new friendships. So, I thank both of these gentlemen for the many hours of fun that...

Anybody ever played a post apocalypse game?

These New Dark Ages I remembered this being linked to at EN World, and spent a little time searching. These New Dark Ages is a campaign set on an Earth where magic returned, and our civilization collapsed. It has a detailed history, which begins to deviate from our world around 2000.

One Dark Night in Weeping Briar?

Here in Phoenix, I played the bard but left after 3 and a half hours. We just finished up the first combat. My team was NOT a well oiled machine, but I still had fun. To me, it seemed that some of the players struggled more than I did with their characters. It was my first time playing 4E...

Chicago Gameday XXII is March 21st: SIGN UP!

Although I am in Phoenix now, I would like to wish everyone at Games Plus and everyone going to the Gameday a great time. (I will be playing in the Worldwide D&D Gameday -- have to see about maybe organizing a Phoenix Gameday down the road.)

    Spammers

I noticed that we have an active spammer tonight, called nikecon. I reported the post that I found, but it looks like the spam troll is busy. (Hmm, how many XPs is a spam troll worth? Is it edible? ;) )

Goodman Games to publish a 4e print magazine under the GSL

A print magazine would be welcome. When I was between gaming groups, sometimes Dragon would help me keep up on what was going on in gaming.

    Highest level you've played

The highest level character I regularly played was Emrys Kenelm, a human wizard who finally reached 35th level in 2003. I had played the character on and off for years, as he was tied into the campaign setting's history, knew a lot of the other principal characters, and had tons of knowledge...
