    Alcohol and D&D

Mmmm.... red wine. I love a nice Shiraz (or Syrah). When I was living in Brazil, I had access to some nice Chilean and Argentinian wines at great prices (though neither makes anything as dry as a Shiraz).

    Alcohol and D&D

Re: Amateurs Oh, screw you. I can drink most under the table. However, I find that "pleasant, warm feeling" to be less than optimal for D&D playing. People tend to think less about their actions.

    Alcohol and D&D

At my gaming table, it's beer only. From experience, I found that it got too sloppy and out of control when we drank hard liquor.

OT - VOTE!!! - (US Citizens)

26 of the states have such laws. However, nothing can be done to recast the vote. Once it's done, it's done. Most of the states impose a fine, with a few considering it a misdemeanor, and fewer still classifying it as a 4th degree felony.

OT - VOTE!!! - (US Citizens)

Since the number of electors a state gets is based on its population, the electoral college solves nothing. If you had a state with a high enough population to have over half of the electors, that state would choose the president every time.

OT - VOTE!!! - (US Citizens)

Well, under the current system you could save yourself some cash, and give $400,000 to each member of the electoral college.

OT - VOTE!!! - (US Citizens)

I was saying that if you win those 5, you already have most of what you need. If you want to get technical, you could actually win with California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. That leaves 39 states. Since those 11...

OT - VOTE!!! - (US Citizens)

Yeah? And what about the 543895 votes that Gore won by overall?

OT - VOTE!!! - (US Citizens)

Actually it wouldn't change a thing. Politicians would not have to change their focus a bit. The electoral votes are based on population. If you win Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and California, you're pretty much all set. Why waste your time on Vermont's 3 electoral votes, when...

OT - VOTE!!! - (US Citizens)

I'm quite aware of the statistics that support your stance. Your brainwashing is clearly complete. However, coming from a state with 4 electoral college votes, I know better. Even if my vote caused a president to win by 4 electoral college votes, the results would be thrown out and decided...

OT - VOTE!!! - (US Citizens)

Personally, until the electoral college is abolished, I will never vote for a president. When I lived in a small state, I knew that my vote was futile, as it did not count as much as someone in California or some other large state. Also, as I recently moved to a new state, I do not feel...

    Appropriate substitution for Favored Enemy?

I am DMing a game in which one of my players plays a Ranger. At the start of the campaign, he chose his Favored Enemy. He chose a creature that was responsible for much harm on his homeland. He was basically trained to hunt these things down, and has had a lot of opportunities to do so...

    BoVD: How's this for random...

What Kai Lord forgot to mention is that he's 48 years old.

That's lame. I hope you told the guy what an idiot he is.

That's not what he said. He said that he didn't "mention the words 'Golden Age'." That does not exclude it from having a golden age type theme.

    Anything goes???

There was a CRPG/dungeon crawl called "Silmar" in the early 90's. In that, some of the characters you could play included wizard, vampire, cyborg, and baseball player.

A sole product I'd love to see.

I find solo adventures exceptionally easy to run. I just make the player provide me a very detailed background, motivations, etc, and run with it. I generally create an NPC sidekick for the main character, unless there's something in the character's story that would prevent me from doing so...

I've felt that way about all of the semifinalist ideas that I've read so far. At least I know that my submission(s) failed not because of lack of quality, but because I didn't use the phrase "golden age."
