In a recent session, I had a PC pry gems off of an alter to the biggest, baddest, evil god in my campaign, and pocket them. Another player stole a horse from the stable at the inn, never bothering to think about whose horse it might be... Ah, the possibilities are endless.

If it fits your idea of your character, go for it. If not, don't do it just to get a few bonuses. That's just lame.

Playing on the weekend is your mistake. Make it a week night. Make it a maximum of 3-4 hours, and she should be happy. That's what seems to work for me and my players. You should be spending time with her on the weekend, anyway.

I get attached to some of my NPCs, but not every barkeep and shopkeeper in every little town the PCs pass through. I do have a few that seem to pop up in every campaign I run, though.
