Anyone Plan On Giving d20 Modern A Go?

The most difficult part would be rigging the rules so that everyone always parachutes out of exploding airplanes just in time.

Charity Fundraiser - our own setting search!

How about a 128-pager? Top 3 settings, 40 pages each, plus 8 pages for intro/outro/etc. 20% split - 10% for first place, 5% each for the other two.

Who else was contacted by WOTC but didn't win?

Darn. Now I'm wishing that I hadn't followed the directions so well, so that I would know if I made someone's short list.

GI Joe. That would be cool.

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

Your Lejendary Adventures system sounds interesting. Does it support the Open Gaming License, or something similar, for 3rd party creations? Is there an equivalent of the D20 license available, or in the works? I apologize if this is considered "common knowledge", as it is not common to me. ;)

    Pick a charity!

Actually, United Way has one of the lower administrative cost rates in the industry. The Better Business Bureau guideline is 35% for charities. United Way, in its larger branches, averages as low as 13%. That's darn good.

How about United Way? They contribute to a ton of different causes.

Charity Fundraiser - our own setting search!

BluWolf's proposal sounds excellent. Although running completely blind would be impossible, I still think that names and settings should not be linked. I'd like to think that Joe Lurker has as much of an opportunity as some well-known member of the community. Otherwise, it could break down...

Charity Fundraiser - our own setting search!

Good point. This will definitely require some thought. However, even if the idea is similar at the one page level, I would be willing to bet that the 2 ideas would come out different enough by the end of the process to both stand out. Another thought - who has ownership of the idea and also...

Wow. Thank you so much. Your compliments mean a lot to me. :) Maybe I'll enter it in that contest Morrus has been talking about, along with my other two.

Yup, that's the premise. I clipped a little bit before I posted it, in order to keep a few ideas secret. But yes, basically a huge earthquake opens up a faultline that exposes the world's watery core. Enterprising kingdoms send a few expeditions down, and discover that there's an entire...

Charity Fundraiser - our own setting search!

Just thought of this... My one concern would be making everything anonymous. Will that be the case? I think it would be more fair that way.

Charity Fundraiser - our own setting search!

This is an excellent idea. I have two superb settings, plus the not-as-superb-but-still-cool setting that I posted on that winners/losers thread, all of which I would be willing to enter in a contest such as this.

This is easily the weakest of my three settings. I plan to further develop my two stronger settings, so I will not list them here. I never expected this one to win, but sent it as a flyer, in case they were looking for a new "crossover"-type world, like Ravenloft, where you can just add this...

    Setting Search

Hello, As the setting search has ended, and entries one through eleven were chosen to move on to the next round, I can only assume that I have entries twelve through fourteen in my posession. Are there any d20 publishers out there that would like to see them? If so, let me know as I am still...

    Who am I?

Maraxle is the name of my favorite character, a rogue with a temper, a minor streak of pyromania, and a dark sense of humor. I live in Virginia and work as a technical specialist in information security and protection. I am a 24 year old male, and have been playing RPGs since I was 18 or 19...

    Congratulations-

My pre-mid-post-apocalyptic setting about the frozen, floating islands of Drinia, the world ruled by giant miniature dragon wizard monks, is going to be the surprise hit of the year.
