What's the best D&D game currently on the market?

Curse of the Azure Bonds. No doubt. :)

    New Boards (Verdict?)

The boards no longer seem to refresh on my system, unless I hit CTRL+F5. That's really annoying. Also, those message icons in general are pretty hideous. Not only that, but I can't see the buttons for bold, italics, etc. Overall, I give the "upgrade" a huge thumbs down. :(

    [OT] Local or Urban Legends

What about Oliver the Humanzee? He was eventually found to be a regular chimp, but the story is good.

    Email software

Free Calypso Client It's a nice program with lots of advanced features. The last update was like a year and a half ago, but it does everything I need. Plus it's free!

    Email software

Outlook is a huge virus/worm risk. Many worms are written specifically for Outlook because it is so popular. I prefer Calypso, or to a lesser extent, Eudora. EDIT: I forgot Mozilla Mail. That's a nice one too.

    [OT] Local or Urban Legends

Re: Re: Roanoke Exactly. Here's another one. I now live in Richmond, VA. There's a diner downtown that is built in what used to be a Civil War era hospital. It is supposedly haunted, and they have a big writeup about it on the back of their menu.

    [OT] Local or Urban Legends

Here's a picture of Peter Poor's grave. It says "Shot By An Indian Tom Hegan" but it should read "Tomhegan".

    [OT] Local or Urban Legends

Near the town in New Hampshire where I grew up is Peter Poor's grave. In 1781, a group of Abenaki Indians conducted the last ever raid on NH. They came into the area and captured several settlers, killing a man by the name of Peter Poor. He is buried along the Androscoggin river just below...

What Sort of Pets Would Your PC(s) Have

My very utilitarian rogue would probably want a pet monkey, as long as he could train it to fetch things and (un)tie knots.

    Virus festival?

The address spoofing part of this virus is the most annoying part. I know that my users are clean, as we filter attachments like this, but we're getting a ton of bounce messages. I sincerely wish the "artist" behind this malicious code had something better to do. If I ever find his or her...

    Dungeon/Polyhedron Life Expectancy

Personally, I own about 5 or 6 issues of Dungeon (a couple from the 2nd edition days, and a handful from 3rd). The last one I bought was probably a year ago. I have used a whole adventure from one, and maps from two others. While the magazine is reasonably interesting reading, I don't get...

Someone did this with one of those pink yard flamingoes, too, if I remember correctly.

    [OT] Mr. Little Guy

I wonder when he's going to do something with the website. I notice that a guy named "Thom" from Minneapolis has mrlittleguy.com registered, but there's nothing there.

Three natural 1's in a row.........

I have a friend who after rolling seven or eight attack rolls in a row that were 5 or under, calmly stood up (d20 in hand), walked over to the sliding glass doors to the porch on my third floor apartment, opened them up, stepped outside, launched the d20 deep into the woods, walked back in...

    I have a problem with a player!

If you really want to keep playing with this person, you'd best switch to doling out XP privately, like others have suggested. Another thing you can do, like what my group does, is set aside some XP that can be voted on by the players. For our low level campaign, we had 50 XP for each player...

[AU] Poor geographic feature or ?

Well, maybe the Bitter Peaks start high up, like the Himalayas, and the Elder Mountains start lower. There are also mountains that start below sea level, like Mauna Kea.

What It's Like For a Gamer Girl

If I may offer my humble opinion... I think it's a geek thing more than a male or a gamer or a male gamer thing. Have you ever seen that Saturday Night Live sketch with "Nick Burns, Your Company's Computer Guy"? That sketch demonstrates exactly what you're describing. Personally, I think...
