    good chili recipes

I'll admit, I'm not a great cook. But I mean well. I had a Guy Fieri chili recipe and it just wasn't very good. The beer taste was very strong. I like beer in the bottle, the chili didn't taste like the beer. I made another chili that called for a chipolte chile and adobe sauce. That had a...

    Foxtrot

Awesome. I'd love to see the fantasy RPG version of Clue or Monopoly. On second thought, maybe not.

    Your Biggest Time Sucks

    1. Web surfing, more specifically Stumbleupon 2. Trying to find things that I knew I saw two days ago when I didn't need them 3. Notebooks full of half-baked, half finished ideas

    Syfy's New Year's Twilight Zone marathon (Thursday, 12/31/09 - Saturday, 1/2/10)

Twilight Zone is an enigma. There are some brilliant TZ episodes that stand the test of time. Others are not so great. What else are you going to do on New Years anyway? :)

chicken fried steak and other local favorite foods

This may or may not be local foods, but I did make a killer cuban pork sandwich yesterday. The Cuban Pork* has layers of roasted pork marinated in sour orange juice, with ham, pickles, and swiss cheese. It may not be local, but it was, "Mmm, good." *made by a person who has never been to Cuba...

Gallons and gallons of turkey soup: cooking a large bird

All I know is that Tyler Florence and Alton Brown associate sage with turkey. I have used fresh sage in the past. It works fine, but I didn't purchase any fresh sage. I had dried sage, though, so I used it. As for stock, I was going to follow the creole recipe for Turkey Stock. It looks good.

    [December] What are you reading?

I just finished Bunnicula, Howliday Inn, and Bunnicula Strikes Again. It wasn't as good as I remember. Of course, it is a kid's book. I also just finished "The Gunslinger" by Stephen King. It was different and not traditional fantasy. It was a bit more odd than I was expecting; especially the...

Gallons and gallons of turkey soup: cooking a large bird

It turned it out well. I had to modify things on the fly. Our turkey barely fit our roasting pan. I didn't think to measure the measure the pan before Christmas. That meant I wasn't able to put only a few carrots and celery stalks in the pan. I took Danny's advice and bought some Pinot Grigio...

    Robin Hood (2010 version) [R]

Gladiator in Tights is right. Despite its flaws, I actually like Prince of Thieves. I may rent this one.

Thanks Danny. I appreciate it. Your posts are quite helpful (xp for you). Mmm, smoked turkey. What do you use for a smoker?

Gallons and gallons of turkey soup: cooking a large bird

Ah, sounds delicious. I have been very impressed with your food inspired posts. You need to have a Youtube channel with recipes and techniques. :) Now, I don't know know anything about wine. I live in Utah. We do drink, but it's either beer or hard liquor. What kind of wine should I get? Bare...

Gallons and gallons of turkey soup: cooking a large bird

An interesting option. However, since it's about 20 something degrees at the high, I'm not sure I want be outside that long. Also, I'd prefer if I had some local expertise. I don't know anyone that has deep fried a turkey before.

Gallons and gallons of turkey soup: cooking a large bird

We decided to break with tradition and have a Turkey for Christmas this year. However, at the store, we purchased a much larger bird than normal. We usually purchase a 13-14 pound bird. This time we have a 23 pound bird. It is quite the monster. We never stuff the turkey and we brine it before...

How the LotR should have ended...

It would have been a lot shorter story, perhaps. Would it have easier? I don't know. I think it'd make more sense for them to ride eagles to a safe landing area and then sneak into Mordor. Isn't that how modern warfare is fought? You don't send F18's and Apache helicopters directly into the...

    Sci-Fi on a budget

Pretty damn cool. It's nice to know you can make an affordable movie (that's not a lame horror movie). I really like how the robots didn't walk, they lumber. Also, the robots are Go Bots, who knew?

    [Trailer] Clash of the Titans

I'm really conflicted. I loved the original. This seems the same, but different; I hope for the better. The Good Good cast, Marcus Sam Worthington as Perseus and Qui-Gon Jinn Liam Neeson as Zeus The action looks good. I wish I could run a Greek game with that much excitement ("Bronze...

Help me understand my computers, and what to update!

Sorry about that, Thanee. I was coming from a US perspective. I built my own computer 2 years. I actually did buy the OEM version thinking it was okay. Then I learned, no, it is not. I tried to do the right thing; I am not about to buy the full version now.

CSS and IE problems (Big Surprise)

Ah, IE, always fixing itself, but yet, still breaking other things. Sort of like the dog chasing his tail. The worst part is IE still has the lead in the browser market. Generally the advice is--as you have done--create your page to work in Firefox and Safari, then create conditional IE hacks.
