    Steampunk "primer"?

Ah, okay. I should have paid more attention. In the Mechamancy book it also lists gearpunk and clockpunk as specific terms. Wikipedia indicates that clockpunk is a derivative of Steam Punk. To me, I see clockwork being more 15th century tech of da Vinci style devices that are wide-spread...

Someone is Bringing Pizza to the Game Tonight

Cookbook 2.0 fixes this little bug. But the pizzas are now square shaped and are sans toppings unless you buy the Pizza Build Kit.

    Steampunk "primer"?

before steam I don't mean to derail, but what is an accepted definition of what pre-steampunk is called? I have the Mechamacy book from EN Press and it calls it clockwork. I type clockwork into google and I don't get many relevant results.

    Getting my first cat tomorrow...

Cross (my path) BC (Black Cat) Cat Astrophe Scratch that last one, it may be better to err on the side of caution, avoiding the "Lucky" and "Chaotic" names. Best of luck to you.

The Hobbit in Limbo: No Mo Del Toro

That sounds like a good movie idea! However, don't call it the Hobbit. Bad Dragon Island?

Someone is Bringing Pizza to the Game Tonight

Ah pizza. One of my favorite foods, but I don't eat it very often. Pizza is an enigma, wrapped in sauce and cheese. I never can make it very well at home. Take out Pizza is either expensive or crappy. In Utah, I love the Pie Pizzeria (I mostly visited the one in Ogden). Godfather's is pretty...

    Where'd the buttons go?

I am glad I wasn't the only one missing the buttons. I also completely missed the Messageboards link Morrus pointed out. Wow, it's amazing how my eye completely missed that for the color photograph further down.

    Romans + Druids + Cthulhu

Neat. So you have Superflying spells or something similar? In a AD&D 1ed book (can't remember if PHB or DMG), it says "Your characters can go to the sun, the stars and beyond." That one phrase always inspired me for some reason. It's not simple nostalgia; I wasn't alive when the 1ed book came...

    Romans + Druids + Cthulhu

Psychotic Jim, excellent questions thank you. I'll address them by each point. I think the fantasy Rome takes an ambivalent stance to adventurers. Sure adventurers cause trouble much of the time, but adventurers are helpful to unload some of the burden of administrating a large empire. My...

    Romans + Druids + Cthulhu

Blogs I added a few things to my EnWorld blog. The details are sketchy, but I will be filling them in here shortly. I really like the idea of 10 things that makes your campaign world different. I stole the idea from the Eberron 3.5 campaign book.

Have you ever been to Walt Disney World?

Never been. As a child I always wanted to go to Disneyland, but we never went. I know many people drive the nearly 700 miles (13 hours in traffic, according to Google Maps) one-way to Anaheim. Yuck, not for me. I'm single without children, of course, so I have never been suckered into going...

    Romans + Druids + Cthulhu

Kasgaard (KAH-guard)--Russia and Baltic Part of the same continent as Jord, stretches east to west to the Unknown East. The land is cold and unforgiving. Kas travelers to the continent are given disparaging nicknames due to the animal pelts they wear. Akrane--Ukraine with a bit of fantasy...

the hills do have eyes Whisper72, cool idea, though not exactly what I had in mind. I should have been more clear. I was going to steal Ray Winniger's idea from his DungeonCraft column in one of the print issues of Dungeon. What if the lake was artificial and was created as a warning? The lake...

    Romans + Druids + Cthulhu

Hank likes the gnome, Hank likes the gnome... So are you are saying the Hills do have eyes? ... ... (crickets) Seriously, Whisper72 I think it's a cool idea. Do the hills of Rome have a lake or other natural structure that could give a hint to what is down there? Danny, I read an...

I quit 4e-DM after my first day.

Take your ball and go home Good for you. You shouldn't have to stand for that. Now you're hobby-less and friendless. Time to make new friends. I would suggest you try again with a more mature group. If you don't feel up to DMing, let one of new older friends DM. You can help out the DM until...

    Romans + Druids + Cthulhu

Good ideas. From my armchair historian POV the Viking did have a lot of dragon iconography. So that makes sense. These two legged dragons, Draconians perhaps? I pondered stealing an idea from Oblivion and say that fantasy China invaded fantasy Scandinavia at one point. I think it's cliche to...

    Merlin (TV Series)

I am really digging this show on SyFy. Am I the only one watching this? I realize this is not a new series, but a BBC series reran. If you haven't seen it, Merlin takes a different angle to the whole Arthur series that has seen many permutations over the years. The scripts are decent, as...

    Fusion Age setting needing help

Cool idea. Are far are you taking this idea? Is this Future with humans only or with mutated elves, trolls, etc? Just because there's lots of space doesn't mean there's no conflicts. Consider the Old West in the U.S. The Old West was relatively untamed and open, but you always have some black...
