I backed the first Kickstarter for the Battle Mat Books and found them excellent. They look very good, you can write on them with erasable or dry erase markers and can mix and match them.

That is very good news. I backed both 7th Sea and Kithai. I know the system is not for everyone but I like it a lot. It is very action oriented and dynamic with a lot of stuff happening at the same time. You have to bend your brain in a different way and change your expectations of traditional rpgs.

China is increasingly on my radar as a place to avoid buying stuff from. I'd rather pay more for an item than encourage their policies limiting freedom.

I find it telling that there is no mention of the diminution of full time jobs on the market, while part-time jobs keep augmenting. If you're not going to give someone a full time job, then they will surely have more leisure time.

Can be useful to take notes during a game. DMs can write prep notes and improv reminders, while players can write equipment, loot, NPCs met, etc..
