D&D 5E (2014) Players, would you play in a game that only used the 5.1 SRD?

Absolutely, assuming everything else about the campaign (ie the players and DM) is good. Imo only the Barbarian is actively bad in the SRD (due to the Berserker being a poor subclass) although the Fighter (champion) is boring for most players (although perfect for your cousin who's only gonna...

D&D General Twenty-Sided Tavern,’ Official Dungeons & Dragons Theater Show, Sets New York Premiere

It's $90 for the CHEAPEST seats in the house! It goes up from there. But unfortunately that's the reality for the larger off-broadway shows in NYC at the moment.

D&D General Twenty-Sided Tavern,’ Official Dungeons & Dragons Theater Show, Sets New York Premiere

Yeah; it's opening night for a fairly big show. They probably earmarked it for press/critics/industry folks so no public ticket sales for that date.

D&D General Twenty-Sided Tavern,’ Official Dungeons & Dragons Theater Show, Sets New York Premiere

It probably does actually open on May 5 and that show is probably bought out. Previews start April 19; I'm seeing it on April 28.

    D&D 5E (2014) What should I steal from these 5e adventure books? (+)

Tomb of Annihilation- one of the very best long form 5E adventures. Loads of good large and small dungeons and single-session set piece site-based adventures. Great bestiary. Great encounter tables. Great maps. Also works as a setting book for Chult. Netherdeep- there’s a tier 2 dungeon as...

D&D 5E (2024) [+] Future of The SRD Speculation Thread

God. I’m not defending a doctoral thesis here. Here’s an article from Polygon stating that the cuts “deeply impacted the D&D team”: Hasbro’s Christmas layoffs have deeply impacted the D&D and Magic teams

D&D 5E (2024) [+] Future of The SRD Speculation Thread

I think the answer is that if we want an SRD for D&D 2024, or for 3.5 to go in CC, we’re gonna have to, once again, as a community, make a big stink about it and hold their feet to the fire. I think when it comes to a new SRD for the updated game, the public will to apply pressure might exist...

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Reveals The Confirmed Release Dates of 2024's D&D Slate

The releases of new core books have always been staggered, throughout every edition. The D&D team is too small to create all three books at the same time. WotC also bragged that this time, the print runs for the books will be so large that they can't be released simultaneously.

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Reveals The Confirmed Release Dates of 2024's D&D Slate

Volumes 5 & 6 of OAR consisted of Temple of Elemental Evil in two parts, which wouldn't work here. And we do know that one is Tsojcanth, which Goodman Games didn't use.

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Reveals The Confirmed Release Dates of 2024's D&D Slate

Yes; I’m wondering, if those two are in this book, whether they will be new versions or just reprints of the OAR versions (since WorC presumably owns those.) S3 does seem a much more likely candidate for inclusion than T1.

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Reveals The Confirmed Release Dates of 2024's D&D Slate

FWIW, Goodman Games has already published 5E versions of T1 and S3 when they had the license from WotC.

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Reveals The Confirmed Release Dates of 2024's D&D Slate

I don't object to a multiverse adventure, but... I think it's a tall order for an adventure to tick as many boxes as this one needs to: 50th anniversary of D&D celebration first adventure using new 2024 rules (if you believe what Crawford said in December) actually no it's the finale to 2014...

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Reveals The Confirmed Release Dates of 2024's D&D Slate

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Reveals The Confirmed Release Dates of 2024's D&D Slate

Has anybody got a link to WotC's actual press release? Nevermind, I see it. Something I haven't seen before: Descent into the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth is now described as a "free excerpt from an adventure in" Quests from the Infinite Staircase. Previously, it was not presented as being part...

D&D 5E (2014) What, if anything, bothers you about certain casters/spells at your table?

You make that sound like more work than it is. You just roll behind the screen, and ask the player what their AC is.

D&D 5E (2014) What, if anything, bothers you about certain casters/spells at your table?

Shield is way less of a problem if the players can’t see the DM’s rolls. And I don’t mean the DM should fudge. But the characters should have no way of knowing whether it is “worth” spending the spell slot.
