Benefit of having 2 Ring of Wizardry of the same level?

Well... they have different uses, I guess. With a ring of wizardry you can memorise 8 different spells for example, whereas with a pearl of power you're restricted to the 4 you memorised, but you get to choose which ones you want back (usually between encounters, since its a standard action to use).

Benefit of having 2 Ring of Wizardry of the same level?

For a wizard, its cheaper to get pearl's of power than a ring of wizardy, at any spell level. Altho it is slightly less versatile.

    Magic item query (metamagic)

The SRD version you quoted is is the divine section under a list saying "Deities can obtain the feats described here, in addition to any standard feats." So I guess gods can create sonic subtituted fireball wands. Us mortals have to stick to the other 4 elements, however.

    Magic item query (metamagic)

Probably because you can't sonic substitute spells: Energy Subsitution, Complete Arcane pg 79: Choose one type of energy (acid, cold, electricty or fire).

    Attacking into a grapple

Well technically a large creatures occupies 8 times the space of a medium. However in general d&d seems to count 1 large = 2 medium in terms of equivalency (see teleport, etc).

    Planar Bubble and creature choices

Well I'd assume living there is enough (eg. Githyanki are described as being native to the Astral Plane). Astral Devas, despite the name, don't seem to make any reference in their description to living and/or spending any time on the astral plane at all, or they'd be perfect. Githyankis...

    Destrying a Lich's Phylactary

As noted, simply hitting it is the easiest way to destroy it. You also do not need any specific hardness weapon to be able to damage it, so long as you can do enough to get through the hardness. A lich with a destroyed phylactery cannot create a new one, and will not reform if killed again.

    Planar Bubble and creature choices

I came across this spell in the Spell Compendium while looking for new spell picks for my newly 15th wizard. So the obvious question.... anything I can call or summon thats native to the astral plane ? For those not familiar with the spell, it creates an emanation around the touched creature...

    Complete Champion feats

I didn't take Battle Blessing with my Paladin, with the release of the Spell Compendium they get a good selection of good spells that are already swift casting time. With the very limited feat selection Paladin's get, it just didn't seem worth it. Holy Warrior is very powerful. With a...

Should you be able to dodge a fireball by readying an action?

How about "I ready an action to tumble away when that ogre swings at me with his longsword the second time" ? The Ogre full attacks, the first attack hits, the second attack gets preempted by the readied action and the character tumbles away. The ogre's full attack was interrupted. However he...

Str 52! Bite of the Werebear and Bear form + VoP

If a sorcerer casts Bull's Strength, then polymorphs into a troll... does the bull's strength spell stop working? Same thing.

    Do humans have natural armor?

From the barkskin spell: "A creature without natural armor has an effective natural armor bonus of +0.". So a human doesn't have natural armour, so couldn't qualify for Improved Natural Armour, for example, but he is treated as having a natural armour bonus of +0 for things that build on that...

SRD v MIC: Bracers of Armor

Tables quite often have shorthand descriptions that are inaccurate, misleading or just plain wrong. Which is why you always refer to the full writeup. MIC has the bracers of armour in a table, but it clearly refers you back to the DMG to read the full item; so yes I'd say the text still trumps...

    Do humans have natural armor?

    Hey, its better than dodge.

    Do humans have natural armor?

I'm of the opinion that humans have no natural armour, and that they are only treated as having a natural armour of +0 for certain effects (eg barkskin). So they couldn't, for instance, take the improved natural armour monstrous feat, which has a prerequisite of natural armour (which would be...

    Improved Natural Attack Questions

The first set have claws as their primary natural weapon, while the second set use claws as their secondary natural weapons. This may be the difference, as a rake is still based on the claw attack, even if it doesn't seem to share weapon focus.

    Improved Natural Attack Questions

And Hyp is pointing out something else in the dire tiger entry that doesn't make sense according to the rules. I'm not sure how that makes him off his game ? The Dire Tiger entry has always been screwed up, they fixed up some of it, but obviously it needs a bit more work.

    Improved Natural Attack Questions

I'm thoroughly confused. A Dire Tiger has 2 claws at +20 then a bite at +14. With BAB +12, size modifier -1, strength modifier +8, weapon focus (claw), this all adds up fine. But then he rakes at +18... even ignoring the weapon focus (claw), 12 + 8 - 1 = 19. Why's his rake at +18 ?

    Custom Magic Item

I think multiplying the magical effect cost by 1.5x because the item has a purely mundane function is pretty overboard. If its later improved to a +10 bonus, do you think that should also be subject to the 1.5x ? In either case, whats to stop the subject wearing a magic belt of +x skill bonus...

    Custom Magic Item

It should be a competence bonus (as that is the standard for skill enhancing items), and perhaps very slightly more than 2500. 2500 is the price for a +5 competence bonus to a skill. If you wanted to go with enhancement instead, it should probably cost more as it could stack with other items...
