Lately, I've been setting gold at maximum. I'm trying to keep randomness out of character creation- first level is hard enough without a bad pre-game roll screwing you.

When I saw the list of Origins Award winners, I was struck by how few categories were devoted to RPGs. I'm glad that the ENnies are maintaining a RPG focus (and I think it's pretty spiffy that with each year, it becomes clearer that the ENnies are the RPG award, and not just the D20 award).

This is pretty much my thinking, though I thought it a bit too cynical to say out loud. If 15 of the 50 move on to the next round, once you take out those who lack the time, inclination, or equipment to make a video, your chances start to look pretty good.
