Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Setting: Map up!

Don't know about the hills, but when I was trying to place Savage Gates of Slaughtergard, I found one river that fit my view of where the area should go. So, my campaign started on the banks of the Kewl River.

    D&D 4E I'm not gonna do 4E

You make it sound like you'll have a choice. Considering what level those Wizards are, I would expect Dominate Person is the least of the spells at their disposal.

    Complete complete series?

Mea culpa. I misread your comment.

    Complete complete series?

I figured someone would bring up B9S, but it really doesn't fit. One characteristic of the second wave of completes is no new base classes. B9S is all about the new base classes. And while it does add stuff that a fighter (or other class) could use, the amount a non-martial adept can use is...

    Complete complete series?

There hasn't been a second book on fighters and their kind. I would have thought it would show up late in 2007 (like, a year after Complete Mage), but nothing on the schedule. Perhaps someone will poke around Amazon to see what releases are listed for early 2008.

Do you threaten while flat footed?

No. If you are flatfooted you cannot make AoOs (excepting Combat Reflexes). If you have used all your AoOs for a round, you can still make AoOs (and still threaten). How many AoOs can you make? 0. It's the difference between someone who Cannot cast spells, and someone who can cast spells, but...

    OOTS 458: Exit Strategy

I'm with you on that and the Linears. I don't really see any reason to keep her around any longer than the other criminal Belkar killed. The Linears just seem annoying and inconsequential. Nale's going to come up with another plan rooted more in his ego than substance. He'll be a speed bump...

    Why do YOU hate specialization?

The specialist comes up a bit lacking. The Master Specialist PrC from Complete Mage certainly helps, imo.

    OOTS #455 Incoming!

Very much liked the illusions' reactions to being shot. Maybe not laugh out loud funny, but worth a few chuckles and I'm still wearing a grin.

Why are hit points generated randomly?

As soon as I read Iron Heroes, I implemented the HP system in that in all of my games. Prior to that, I'd been trying other random but not too random methods; the last was roll, and get half the max if you roll under that. It's a sacred cow and it's one of the random rolls that can most screw...

    OotS 452

No, that was a few weeks ago. ("but I don't want to fight in the shade!") :)

Did your parents get you into gaming?

Second generation gamer. My dad played in the air force, and I waited patiently (and impatiently) for a time when I'd be old enough to sit at the table. I grew up reading Dragon magazine and the 1e AD&D books. My two brothers and I all participated in the hobby, but I'm the only one who stuck...

RPGNet - What's Up With the d20 Ghetto?

Provided you're not IP banned, trouble tickets is once again open to the public. 300+ posts of discussion can be found here: http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=323209 It ends with Shannon saying things are looking good for the split, and he'll have a better idea in a month or so. ETA- I...

RPGNet - What's Up With the d20 Ghetto?

I'm of mixed feelings. As I understand it, it's been getting a lot of traffic- enough to justify being in its own forum. And it's nice to find d20 threads right there. But, it's also another forum to look through. And it misses out the insight from the non-D20 players, who might have...

    HackMaster: The New Edition

That does look pretty cool. I might have to tackle Hackmaster again at some point, modified for the enjoyment of my group (not quite as big of fans as I of including every rule followed to the letter. sigh.)

    Longsword PCs

I figured about 70% long term, although my current games seem to be using it a bit less. It's the favorite of the sword and boarder who doesn't want to spare a feat for the bastard sword. Elves, too, whatever the class will pick it up. For alternate weapons, rogues tend almost exclusively to...

TOB: Stance progression: problems for crusader

I was wondering if this came up in Ask Wizards. Here's the link: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ask/20070405a In brief, the word of the sage is that a crusader who wants a high level stance is spending a feat on it.

TOB: Stance progression: problems for crusader

I'd have to check my book to see how master of nine would affect it, but off hand I'd say that's a very rare prestige choice for the crusader. You need to know a manuever from five or six disciplines, and the crusader only has access to three, requiring you to take Martial Study two or three...

Now WotC has taken Dragonlance (merged)

For once, I would like to try my hand at wild speculation with nothing in the way of facts to back it up: Hasbro is tying up loose ends to facilitate the sale of the RPG and Miniature Gaming parts of WotC to Peter Adkison. This deal will be announced at Gen Con. ;) pass it on.

TOB: Stance progression: problems for crusader

If you want the high level stances, you spend a feat for Martial Stance (which I'm pretty sure you don't need Martial Study for, as you'll already know several manuevers). It's costly, but those high level stances are worth it.
