    D&D 5E (2014) Why does the club do d4?

Why does the dagger do d4?

Is the Original D&D White Box reprint good for new players?

Nope, it's not really good for n00bs - while the rules are basically easy, the booklets are confusing and badly ordered. Better find someone who runs a game or two for you or get a retroclone that is based on it. Those are much clearer and while they are good on their own, they are useful in...

D&D 5E (2014) Ranger Favored Enemy - Expanded Crit Range?

It's okay I guess. I was thinking about creating a whole Slayer build for the ranger, with more classic favored enemy bonuses.

    D&D 5E (2014) Help me write a tomb crawl!

I went through the notes. Solid beginning adventure, especially considering that you're a beginner DM. As for being railroady, don't be afraid to add some branching, circles and a few more rooms to your dungeon. With ten rooms it won't make the life of your beginner players much more difficult...

I will add some comments if you don't mind.

A friendly beholder. So they learn not every monster is sword fodder and there are things you shouldn't anger.

    D&D 5E (2014) Getting the AD&D feel in 5th edition

Lots of good ideas here. I already mentioned before in another topic that Exhaustion can be used to simulate serious wounds. I'm still undecided if I should create a seperate Exhaustion/Wounds charts, or just hand out Exhaustion for criticals and 0 HP/HD.

Spelljammer Fish out of water campaign - Spelljammer

Sounds great. Add a few space dinosaurs and pirates, but otherwise I'm out of ideas at the moment how to make it cooler.

    D&D 5E (2014) Firearms, Explosives and You

They will be useful artifacts in my Wilderlands campaign.

D&D 5E (2014) Monster Manual - What pictures really stood out, or changed your view on a monster?

I want to highlight the merrow too. It's nice to see him become a full-fledged monster instead of an aquatic ogre variant. And that illustration is very cool too.

    D&D 5E (2014) Historical European Weapon Equivalents

That's a really useful thread, thank you very much!

    D&D 5E (2014) Help me write a tomb crawl!

For creatures, you can pretty much apply the "desert" or "sand" tag to any humanoid - desert goblins, desert orcs, desert elves, etc. You can also use snakes, snakemen (yuan-ti), spiders, antlions, scorpions, scorpion men (drider), cactus dryads, animated cacti, dust devils, crocodiles, (dire)...

D&D 5E (2014) Non fantasy setting book or books for 5th edition

Several D&D settings and adventures have sci-fi elements in them. I hope we'll see rules for modern weapons in the DMG, just like in 3e. Just in case my Wilderlands party finds an ancient ruin with lost tech in it.

D&D 5E (2014) Non fantasy setting book or books for 5th edition

I would give an arm and leg for a new edition of Alternity based on 5e.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e heros: Adventuring yo-yos.

And it's still much more than in previous campaigns, where getting knocked down even once mostly meant rolling new characters. ;) It's a matter of taste, but I like when players are more careful about resources and getting into battles.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e heros: Adventuring yo-yos.

Since I want to make combat more deadly, serious wounds have lasting effects and healing require longer downtime periods, I'm okay with that. We're used to (and prefer) games where it's far easier to die and full recovery takes more time than a full rest. I could have went with slowing down HP...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e heros: Adventuring yo-yos.

I think I'm going to reward 0 hit points with a level of exhaustion. I'm curious what rules the DMG is going to have for lingering wounds.

    D&D 5E (2014) Death strike is grisly

A 17th level assassin deserves to be deadly. Reminds me when in Ultimates Hawkeye killed a bunch of dudes with his fingernails.
