    D&D 5E (2014) Classic/BX looking character sheet for 5e?

I didn't know if I should give XP for the sheet, or a laugh for the quoted part.

D&D 5E (2014) Spell Point Variant in Play

I think 5e dodges some of that, because even with Spell Points, you can use very high level spells only once a day.

D&D 5E (2014) Has anyone else brought in books from older editions to 5E?

I converted a ton of races from the Wilderlands of High Fantasy, plus I'm going to use both OD&D, Universal, and 3e Judges Guild products.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana is Here - and it's all about EBERRON!

Simple and elegant conversions, I like them. Greyhawk is a more down-to-earth setting than Forgotten Realms. It's closer to sword & sorcery, than high fantasy. It also has plenty of detail and lots of the evergreen 1e adventures take place there. Plus it has a cool hexmap, which is a huge help...

    D&D 5E (2014) Which Urban Setting for D&D 5e?

Lankhmar and City State of the Invincible Overlord - although the latter might be too "crazy" for you.

    D&D 5E (2014) Which non-Realmsian setting for you?

Plus Kingdoms of Kalamar is now the core setting of the new HackMaster, so it's highly unlikely that there will be support for other systems.

    D&D 5E (2014) Scorching hot dice

No, but I was thinking a lot about drowning one of my d20s in petrol and putting it on fire.

    D&D 5E (2014) Wizards Should Hire Paizo

A few examples for sandbox adventures I'd like to highlight: Isle of Dread (BECMI D&D) Frandor's Keep (HackMaster) Doom of the Savage Kings (DCC RPG) Thieves of Fortress Badabaskor (OD&D/D&D3e) Death on the Reik (WFRP) Many classic D&D modules are also standalone, location based adventures...

    D&D 5E (2014) Scariest Monster Ever

    Everything that petrifies.

    D&D 5E (2014) Wizards Should Hire Paizo

Plus it's not that hard to convert from Pf to D&D, and vice versa.

    D&D 5E (2014) Wizards Should Hire Paizo

Instead of hiring Paizo, I would like Wizards to forget the whole adventure path stuff and write stand-alone sandbox adventures.

D&D 5E (2014) A character in free fall, falls how many feets by turn?

Depends on how long he's been falling, since the falling speed is not static until you reach terminal velocity. But neglecting air resistance and friction the gravitational acceleretion of a falling body is 9.78-9.83 m/s^2, so calculating with an average g=9.8 m/s^2 acceleration and t=6s time...

D&D 5E (2014) Warlock, Pact of the Boon Specific Wording Question

This. Why not let it be really any class, if it won't break anything?

    D&D 5E (2014) Which non-Realmsian setting for you?

There are several non-WotC settings on that list, so it's strange Scarred Lands is missing. But at least Wilderlands is in! As for WotC, I would love to see some Greyhawk or Eberron stuff. But do not dare to produce a Greyhawk setting book without a big ass hexmap!

D&D 5E (2014) Spell slots, wizards and sorcerers

Nothing. Memorization is there to make clerics and wizards flexible by being able to change their prepared spells.

D&D 5E (2014) Spell slots, wizards and sorcerers

Which part you don't grasp? The big difference for wizards and clerics is that they have to memorize several spells from those available to them (eg. what's on the cleric's spell list, or what's in the wizard's spellbok), so unlike sorcerers, you can build and change your spell list. After that...

D&D 5E (2014) DMs - How often to wild surge?

Same here. Heck, I even have a race that has to roll when someone casts on him.

    D&D 5E (2014) Help Me Grok Slaad

I don't think thirteen year olds know much about Michael Jackson nowadays, but he can be. Depends on the mood. Or something else. It's complicated, like the many faces of the Joker from the first Batman comic to the latest.

    D&D 5E (2014) Help Me Grok Slaad

Well, definitely not like the crappy example. Show them it's chaotic, don't tell. Just improvise and come up with some action. At first the slaad's busting some sweet dance move like Michael Jackson, after the PC attacks he screams furiously like a little girl and claws at the attacker...
