NWN Conversions of existing modules - big "No-No"

That's a really interesting point you got there. I'm not sure I would agree with you, but I'm not sure I disagree either. However, I'd agree that there's an argument to be made there. You can't view a .pdf without Acrobat You (presumably) can't view an NWN module without NWN To most people...

[OT] Sacred Cow - Indian? or the Kine of Helios?

According to your friend and mine, Merriam Webster, it's from "the veneration of the cow by Hindus". The definition notes that sacred cows are often "unreasonably" immune from criticism as well, heh.

    [OT] Vampire: the Dungeon Crawl?

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Oh god was that funny. So true, so true. I hated Wuthering Heights. The only characters I liked were the vicious dogs. I kept hoping they'd rend Heathcliff. I even wrote a paper about them.

    Dwarves

Dwarves are great. I've run, so far, two all-dwarven campaigns. We had related PCs, hired help, all sortsa nice stuff. Well, one campaign had a gnome too, but they're like junior dwarves. They're about the only non-human race I enjoy playing, not that I ever get to actually play.

    Favourite D&D adventure

UK2 - The Sentinel However, it's best when done in conjunction with UK3 - The Gauntlet, I've found.

    Pictures from my campaign

Those houses look a lot like the ones from some old TSR set.. a Forgotten Realms (though there wasn't anything particularly FR-y about it) set called, I believe, 'Cities of Mystery' It had a bunch of these little fold-up and put-together buildings, and a booklet with a bunch of guidelines for...

    (OT) EN World Anagram Puzzle

Looks like "Marshall" to me. Or, perhaps it's "Shlamarl", you never know ;)

    Spiderman

According to the IMDB, the movie will indeed feature Dr. Octopus and the Lizard, with Sam Neill as Otto Octavius. Mighty Bruce Campbell will also be in the movie. I wonder if Spider-Man will need more money, so he goes wrestling again? :D

    Reading Group--Caesar's Legion

Probably something like this (if I remember my Roman history properly): "Whoa! Citizenship -and- land ownership? Sign me up!" One reason (among many), I've always felt, that the Romans were able to mount large armies is that their benefits of service were very good, especially when compared to...

    Drow: like cow or crow?

The Ruler of Coot said: Drow! Drow the wagons into the drow fortress, before we draw fire from those drow-hating gnomes! Drow, drow I say! Obsolete imperative of 'draw', eh? You chaucerian, you.

Cool items that the party never used.

Urgh. I've seen -that- often enough. We're between campaigns right now because we had a bit of a TPK while Returning to the Temple of Elemental Evil. They all got massacred by a mass of bad peoples, and during the whole fight, the now-dead wizard refused to make much use of his Wand of Magic...

    Story Hour contribution

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that De Vermiis Mysteriis isn't one of those ;) Seriously, though, I think you should keep writing as well. I liked it. Does Chaosium still publish those collections of Lovecraft tribute stories? One never knows.

    Story Hour contribution

I wondered the same thing, and asked in Wicht's thread in the Story Hour forum. I figured it was a movie, but couldn't find it on the IMDB: Well, I just searched through Vincent Price's movies, and turns out that The Conquerer Worm is an alternate title for Matthew Hopkins: Witchfinder General...

    Story Hour contribution

Well, if you want some criticism: The ending is pretty well telegraphed from about halfway through.. really, from about when they start reading the book. Of course, the details of the ending aren't clear until Wainswright's fate is described, but one gets the gist. Note: Lovecraft does this...

The Confession of Sarai Mocksley and other tales
