regarding rangers: I just don't know how 'mystical' or 'strange' they are in a world of wizards, clerics, sorcery, etc. etc....

I guess I would agree that clerics & paladins could be a prestige class (in the way you use the term), but I would really have to disagree with the idea of rangers being used as such. Rangers are meant to be outdoors-ey types (whether or not 3e actually captures that is another, tired, argument...

The rules are fine as they are, and if a fighter can survive a 100 foot drop, GOOD. I LIKE THAT. :p

I never read it C to C per se, but on multiple occasions I've read and re-read so many parts (all of them AFAICR) as to have in effect read the entire book at least once.

I would argue that in many ways, for many people, 'believing' in Christianity will likely put a person at odds with most of the world. But other than that, I generally agree with you. :)

This kinda reminds me of that episode of The Simpsons where the Mensa society takes over society-at-large, and with all their 'brilliant' ideas, they ruin it for everyone, turning it into a 'fruitopia.' I think the game would be ruined by all these 'brilliant' innovations to the rules.
