D&D 3.x What Types of Damage Reduction Are There in 3.5?

If you read the description of the Damage Reuction ability in the back of the DMG (page 291-292), it mentions all of the DRs seen in the MM. The system can support others, but the desginers advise against it as a general rule. (A very interesting epic campaign would be a swarm of creatures...

Alignments, Cycles, and the Anger of Angels

Spot-on. Do you have a title, link, ISBN number or something? Controversial religous theories are an interest of mine. Angels, and other good-aligned celestials, shouldn't be just sitting up there doing nothing. When they do their jobs right, the mortals never realize that the angels...

Build the Ultimate Level 6 Warrior! (or, Making Warrior Followers Worth It)

In a planar dungeon-crawling campaign? Yeah, probably. The most that they can do in combat is help flank and "Aid Another." Leadership is best suited for a more epic "runing the army" campaign, or more terrestrial dungeon-crawling. (They are, of course, BEST suited for helping out in a...

    Astral Deva character concerns

My thoughts. He feels a bit too front-loaded at 5th level--five hit dice, +5 BAB, and loads of special abilities. But D&D tends to be front-loaded, and your advancement chances aren't very high. Angels/Celestials aren't lawyers. They have a tendency to confront evil wherever they see it...

    Astral Deva character concerns

Why, yes, actually. While I'm not familiar with Savage Species (I make it a point not to buy WotC books that aren't SRD-bound), the stock Astral Deva in the 3.5 MM is a 20th level charcter (12 HD & +8 LA). I suspect that an Astral Deva would be horrendiously underpowered to fit in with 5th...

    [Prometheus] - Comments wanted

The logo is intended as an indicator of compatability. The reference documents will be the SRD, MSRD, 3.5SRD, possibly the Anime SRD, and very likely a supplemenetal document including necessary rules not found in the SRD. For the record, there's no conflict with using d20 and Prometheus on...

    [Prometheus] - Comments wanted

The Prometheus logo exists because the FGA's previous and more-obvious "Free20" and "Open20" logos caused objections from WotC's legal department. Plus, we like the myth, and the logo tends to "grow" on folks who see it a couple of times. The FGA is the organization to turn to for a new logo...

    [Prometheus] - Comments wanted

That is all we need to do. No one picked up Everquest, looked at it, and then put it back because it didn't have the d20 logo. No one didn't pick up Mutants and Masterminds because it didn't have the same logo as the d20 books it was shelved next to. Four years ago "d20" was meaningless...

PCL 0.4 Combined Draft. Odd. They work for me. Can you provide your browser and OS, so we can look into the matter? Here's the combined draft, as a ZIP'd RTF.

    d20STL alternative

Logos. Heh. :) If you would like a crack at the logos, feel free. I can e-mail you (later tonight) the PSDs or high-resolution TIFFs or JPEGs (or PNGs) of either logo, if you so desire. The logos are in a state of flux now, and a better design may be able to dispace the current logos. It...

"Quality Standards" in the d20 System Guide

If you're interested in this, please help the FGA with OpenDie, Prometheus, and whatever else catches on. The only way to prevent fragmentation is to have one logo used by all and controlled by a neutral party. To discuss Prometheus, join the FGA-Prometheus group at yahoogroups.com...

    quality standards compliance decisions

Go Prometheus! If you drop the d20 license--or if you think that you might drop it at some point in time--please don't go logo-free. Adopt the OpenDie and Prometheus logos NOW, so that they have greater recognition when we need them later. Both logos mean something ever-so-slightly different...

    d20STL alternative

No. Though, if there was a desire for such a logo, the FGA would happily host and/or create one. I had an off-messageboard discussion with Chris last night about this. I can go into more detail with possible answers later.

    d20STL alternative

Prometheus Unfortunately, not yet finalized. The FGA had a poor tactical decision months ago about FGA, and we wound up spending energy on a superfluous project. The recent controversy has given us a new start, though, and we're going to take this as far as it goes--at the least, enough for...

    d20STL alternative

If you're upset about the methods Wizards is using to enforce their standards of quality, we here at the Free Gaming Association would like to suggest that you consider replacing their compatability-logo with a third-party compatability-logo. Thankfully, there isn't a need to create a whole new...

What Alternatives Are There For Alignments... ?

Alingment isn't supposed to be more than "what side you're on." It's not subjective, it's not variable--and it's NOT supposed to be all that you do to describe your character. A cruel Inquisitor, a naive adventurer, a cowardly spellcaster, and a vicious fighter can all be Lawful Good.
