Pathfinder Launches Playtest for Necromancer and Runesmith Classes

I hope they make the Necromancer a permanent class. I SO much want one for my next BBEG!

Musk says he'll create an AI Game Studio

At best, he'll throw some money at it, make a big show of it, hire people more interested in making money or advancing in politics, and it will fail miserably.

D&D General Just sweeping dirty dishes under the rug: D&D, Sexism, and the '70s

Would anyone be against sexy centerfolds if there were both male and female models? After all, women can be horny teenagers too. I think I remember seeing a "recent" drawing of a female orc in an apron holding a rolling pin. For me, that's not D&D. And doesn't such a picture reinforce gender...

What Genre Do You Wish Inaugurated TTRPGs?

Pure sci-fi. (e.g. Star Frontiers) I'm not a fan of mixing sci-fi and fantasy like Star Wars or Starfinder.

D&D General How Often Should a PC Die in D&D 5e?

I had a group who was TPKed. The players rolled up new characters (for the same adventure), and eventually came across the bodies of their former PC's

D&D General How Often Should a PC Die in D&D 5e?

I disagree. As long as the party has the ability/option to retreat, it's not the GM's fault.

D&D General How Often Should a PC Die in D&D 5e?

Have you ever played 1E or Pathfinder? :) ;)

D&D General How Often Should a PC Die in D&D 5e?

I don't go out of my way to kill PC's or cause TPKs, but full player agency means that sometimes people make bad decision, and intelligent monsters would take full advantage of those bad decisions. I mean, if you're 2nd level, come across a dragon and decide to draw your sword, well.....

D&D General How Often Should a PC Die in D&D 5e?

I didn't vote because having a schedule/doing it systematically as the survey seems to imply, doesn't make sense. A character death should be driven by the environment they are in, and the decisions and actions they take. IMO, the possibility of death should always be present, otherwise...

D&D General Folks Who Came Back With 5E: Did You Stay with 5E?

I played 1E and 2E and then stopped playing for a long time because I couldn't find anyone else interested, and eventually gave up. Then by chance, I came across my current group when the GM was looking for people to play 5E which had just been released about a year before.

    "The Customer Is Always Right"

Yea, I don't want an involved conversation with a retail worker either, but I don't think thank you or good morning reaches that level.

    "The Customer Is Always Right"

In the past few years, I found that the people behind the counter are detached, and have a bad attitude. They don't even have the motivation to do the basics like "good morning, or thank you, have a nice day, etc. This is surprising to me because when I was their age and working in retail, you...

GMing: What If We Say "Yes" To Everything?

Assuming the GM sets the difficulty appropriately, it should be fine. Player: "I want to flap my arms and fly away". GM: OK, just role a 35 on a d20". Player: But that's impossible". GM: Yes. *** After a while, the players would start getting a hint. Otherwise, it sounds very similar to a...

Yea, I guess in a fantasy game, you can do whatever. :)

D&D General The purpose of deity stats in D&D.

An article in Dragon magazine in the 80's gave "stats" to God and Satan. Every stat had either "Special" , "Unlimited" or "See below" listed next to it. Kind of pointless to give stats to beings who are supposed to be omnipotent.
