I don't go out of my way to kill PC's or cause TPKs, but full player agency means that sometimes people make bad decision, and intelligent monsters would take full advantage of those bad decisions. I mean, if you're 2nd level, come across a dragon and decide to draw your sword, well.....

I didn't vote because having a schedule/doing it systematically as the survey seems to imply, doesn't make sense. A character death should be driven by the environment they are in, and the decisions and actions they take. IMO, the possibility of death should always be present, otherwise...

I played 1E and 2E and then stopped playing for a long time because I couldn't find anyone else interested, and eventually gave up. Then by chance, I came across my current group when the GM was looking for people to play 5E which had just been released about a year before.

He probably thought talking about his life story would garner sympathy and ensure a larger tip. :) :rolleyes:

An article in Dragon magazine in the 80's gave "stats" to God and Satan. Every stat had either "Special" , "Unlimited" or "See below" listed next to it. Kind of pointless to give stats to beings who are supposed to be omnipotent.
