Half elves and orcs should remain in the game as an option. If you're offended by them, simply don't include the optional species in your campaign.

What if your current group isn't interested in a new game? What if you don't have a group at all? Under those circumstances, getting a group together to play a "Not D&D rpg" is a challenge.

And that in my experience is typically the biggest hurtle with most other TTRPGs.

I'm glad someone previously on the inside was willing to acknowledge issues within the company. However, like at least one other person mentioned, bashing a former employer will often make it much harder to convince potential new employers to hire you.

By new, I would say games created at or around the OGL scandal. I wouldn't necessarily expect them to fail, but my guess is that they will have a very tiny audience. Not because they aren't good, but because of lack of momentum as well as the fact that D&D has a robust infrastructure that...

I'm not sure I like the idea of being forced into a new era. It seems like an artificial way to give a boost to a player who may be falling behind the AI.

Regardless of whether D&D2024 deserves to succeed or not, it's the 800 pound gorilla in the industry and it can produce substandard adventures, rule book, etc with little consequence. It's unfortunate, but it's the reality of a business that dominates an industry. Complexity is personal taste...

Not needing to choose a patron until level 3 makes absolutely no sense to me. The whole defining characteristic of being a warlock is that you make a pact with an otherworldly being, or they make an involuntary pact with you. In some way or another, a connection between the PC and the patron...

No, I don't buy anything from Nestle. A corporation should be judged on it's own merits/lack thereof, not how it compares relative to other corporations.
