Starfinder How would Golarion's return affect Starfinder?

Personally, I'd rather have Pathfinder and Starfinder exist in different universes/dimensions. That being said, it would have little effect on the Starfinder worlds (they have wizards already), but a profound effects on Golarian. Kind of like if the aliens from the Barrier peaks module (AD&D)...

D&D General D&D's Utter Dominance Is Good or Bad Because...

Everyone should be given the benefit of the doubt, until they prove otherwise. WoTC is long past the benefit of the doubt.

D&D General D&D's Utter Dominance Is Good or Bad Because...

Going a little off topic, but WoTC has earned scrutiny from the player base. It's perfectly reasonable to give the smaller guy the benefit of the doubt...unless they prove otherwise.

D&D General D&D's Utter Dominance Is Good or Bad Because...

Good if you create 3rd party content for D&D, bad if you create content for other games.

GMs - what is your vetting process for finding new players?

I've never had to vet a player before because I knew everyone that I've invited to games. However as a player, I've experienced two very different vetting's. The first one was a phone interview that lasted close to an hour. He asked me about my (TTRPG) background and experience - each response...

WotC Hasbro CFO Sharpens Focus on Cost Savings As Toy Shoppers Pull Back

D&D General Who “owns” a PC after the player stops using them?

If a player stops using a PC, then without knowing the details, it's not unreasonable to assume they are no longer interest in that PC, and also has left the game. In that case, what other people do with it likely doesn't matter to the player. It always best to simply ask the player if they...

    D&D 5E (2014) Somehow Vecna returned....

One of my favorite Vecna stories pits him against Orcus, and how Orcus uses Vecna's arrogance to curb stomp him. Wish I could find the link...

    Pathfinder 2E Essential PF2ER Elements

I'm not hung up on the wording, I simply don't think an action needs to be spent for it, and I provided a reason. You may disagree, but there is no need for a condescending tone.

    Pathfinder 2E Essential PF2ER Elements

I play the "regular" 2E remastered, but one thing I'd like to change/simplify is the shield mechanic. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that anyone holding a shield wouldn't raise it automatically at the start of combat. That is, a player shouldn't have to specify that they are raising...

Most of the widely played/popular TTRPGs were started in America.

Why do many people prefer roll-high to roll-under?

Preferring rolling high is just the result of how we been conditioned to view larger numbers as better. For example, it's better to get a 100 on a test vs. a 59.

D&D General What are the “boring bits” to you?

It wasn't me. I wouldn't have allowed it to go on that long. Mr. 2 hour roleplay is also the same guy who takes a long time to decide which spell to cast.

D&D General What are the “boring bits” to you?

But neither are as real as the players.
