Planescape Planescape IS D&D Says Jeremy Crawford

Whatever... My friends and I will continue to use FR. In an "everything goes" multiverse, nothing has to be consistent, make sense, or tie into anything else. It's clearly a business decision made to give the content creators as much flexibility as possible.

D&D General Should NPCs be built using the same rules as PCs?

Adversarial NPC's should be built stronger than the PC's. Otherwise the PC's will steamroll/curb stomp them.

D&D 5E (2014) D&D 5E’s Top-Selling Adventures and What It Means for the Hobby from Teos Abadia aka Alphastream.

I'd be interested in seeing the advertising $$ spent on each to get a sales to revenue ratio.

What RPG do you most regret parting with?

Deities and Demigods, 1st edition. It introduced me to the Cthulhu mythos. After a while it started falling apart, so I tossed it.

At what point does a thread become necro?

Yep, this. I was on a board years ago that listed necro'ing a thread as bannable offense in the rules. Problem was, they didn't provide any time frame as to what they considered necro.

At what point does a thread become necro?

Yea, I wasn't looking for a definitive answer, I was just asking for opinions.

At what point does a thread become necro?

I'm not sure why this thread is getting snarky responses. Is there some issue with this question? I don't see what's so hard about providing a simple (real) opinion

At what point does a thread become necro?

So long, and thanks for all the fish... But really, can you contribute anything other than a snarky reply?

At what point does a thread become necro?

This morning I responded to a thread where another person responded to it earlier today, but prior to that, the last post was Sept 20th. Seven days isn't a long time, so I wouldn't really consider it old, but it got me thinking. How long does a thread have to be dormant to be considered necro...

So what are your informal expectations...or rules, for a RPG?

I once had a GM who would start talking with his buddy about recent movies and TV shows in the middle of the game for about 2 hours each session. After the third session, I just left the group without an explanation. If he was that oblivious to the fact he was interrupting his own game, he...

Has anyone tried to explain the ahistorical features of the standard fantasy setting in-universe?

If anyone asked me, I would just hand wave it as an "alterative universe/dimension".

    D&D 5E (2024) Should all races/lineages have +2/+1/+1 ASI?

I like that idea! That would be a step in the right direction for slowing down the zero to hero effect. It would be a hard sell, but it's the right way to go.

D&D 5E (2024) Does the concept of subspecies of Elves come across as racist to you

It's really all about the wording. I'm sure someone can come up with an alternative to "sub" that won't bother people so much. Personally, I don't care either way.

D&D 5E (2024) Half Race Appreciation Society: Half Elf most popular race choice in BG3

Species may not be the best term, but it's better than race.

    D&D 5E (2024) The new warlock (Packet 7)

Having pact boons as invocations feels thematically weird to me, and weakens the warlock because you now have to expend an invocation "slot" to get it. But I guess it was easier to include them as invocations rather than come up with three new ones.

What do you see in your head in Theater of the Mind?

I'm a visual person. Theatre of the mind is challenging for me, but I know that it makes things easier for the DM.
