D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

To answer the OP. People have certain preferences, and like to stick with them. Maybe they aren't necessarily resistant to change, but genuinely don't like the changes.

    D&D General D&D: Literally Don't Understand This

Space ships (Barrier Peaks) was a one-off, That is something that's not part of the everyday world. Whereas high heels is an "everyday" item.

    D&D General D&D: Literally Don't Understand This

I don't think that's a good analogy. When I asked that question, I was thinking of actors and singers who often get royalties for their work. I think an illustrator is closer to those than an assembly line worker.

Illustrators don't get paid every time their artwork is used?

They had to pay the illustrator. (unless it was AI)

    D&D General D&D: Literally Don't Understand This

My guess is that neither the Taylor Swift demographic, or the general D&D demographic spends much time on X... So, not the best choice of venues. Pinterest, BlueSky or Instagram would be a better use of marketing dollars.

    Funny videos (non political)

Just something funny, I'd thought I'd share. Sort of D&D related. :)

I don't get the arguments for bioessentialism

This thread has the potential to get heated... Personally, I agree. Different species (and they are not races...) have different strengths and weaknesses. Making all of the species a blank slate / skin may be easy from a game development perspective, but IMHO, doesn't make sense. Yes, it's a...

    Starfinder Player Core Review

I played Star Finder 1 a number of years ago, so I'm pretty familiar with it as is. I just wish that they included all classes in this book instead of making people wait for additional releases. This approach is typical for Paizo, so no surprise, but I'm not going to introduce it to my players...

    What's Your Price Limit?

Hard cover has gotten too expensive for me to purchase on a regular basis, and my bookshelf is already clogged with books. So, I only purchase digital content now.

Spells that hit two opponents and door/wall position

It's an electric arc spell (PF2). I took a closer look at the spell description that indicated that the bolt leaps from one target to the other, so that means that the wizard only needed to see one of the targets. Line of sight wasn't specified. So, I guess that's it. Thanks guys.

Spells that hit two opponents and door/wall position

I can't find this scenario in any rulebook, so I'd like to ask your view. Last week my players came upon a room with two doors spaced 5 feet apart. Both doors were opened revealing two monsters that were on either side of a 30x30 room. Rolling the highest initiative, the wizard announced that...

Ozzy has passed. Pour one out for the Prince of Darkness.

Bark at the Moon was my first Ozzy and Heavy Metal album. From there I explored all of his work including Black Sabbath and my other HM artist. Best music ever. I had an opportunity to see him live once, got tickets and hotel, etc, but he canceled due to health issues. This was just a few...

So you're done with D&D but still want to play D&Dish fantasy...

My "conversation" to Pathfinder 2E came shortly after the OGL scandal. I really like the 3 action system, all of the conditions and combat options, as well as the variety of character building. However, I still prefer D&D lore to Pathfinder lore.

Which Chips (or Fries) Are the Best?

When I first saw chips in the title my initial reaction was "well Doritos for a D&D game of course" :) But my vote is for sweet potato fries.
