    Chuck Finale (spoilers)

The second sentence explains the first, to me. It was a good finalé, but the show wasn't so great that I felt like making a thread. The first couple of seasons were stronger, imo, but the last three were good enough that I still enjoyed watching it. Everyone got pretty much what they wanted in...

The Walking Dead 2.10 - 18 Miles (spoilers)

End of the world, though, seriously. If you not only think your husband/friend is dead but there's an extremely strong chance that you, too, will be dead any day now, it seems perfectly fine to me.

The Walking Dead 2.10 - 18 Miles (spoilers)

Point is, if the question is "you made a noise and zombies move towards noise, so why didn't the zombies get you then" then the answer is "moving towards noise doesn't necessarily get you there". As you note, they definitely change intelligence, but one perfectly valid answer is that the...

The Walking Dead 2.10 - 18 Miles (spoilers)

This I can understand from an interior layout perspective: moving toward the gunshot and fight sounds could push the zombies into a dead-end with no windows, but the window breaking pulls them towards the window itself, moving them out of their dead-end. (I did some pathfinding programming for...

the tablet war is heating up

I love Air Display, and it works equally well with Mac and Windows. I regularly use it as a third monitor, and use it as a second monitor for my laptop when I'm at the coffee shop (with my own, second wifi network for the iPad so it doesn't suffer the whims of the public wifi speeds).

The Walking Dead 2.10 - 18 Miles (spoilers)

Why the hell would anyone intentionally cut themselves across the palm of their hand? I know it's done on TV and film all the time -- and is likely used due to how easy it is to conceal the blood packet, etc. -- but come on. It always breaks my willing suspension of disbelief. Having cut...

Why do all the characters die in British TV?

I was picking up on a perceived tone, you're right you didn't say nobody likes them. I'll try this a different way. You said: It seems to me that you're saying that the reason they stayed with character deaths is because that's what's in the books, as though they didn't have a choice. I'm...

Why do all the characters die in British TV?

Here's the point: some people like some things, some people like other things. Saying "I and people I've talked to don't like this thing" isn't a case for not having that thing, yet that's her argument. Elf Witch, you don't like it. Check. Can you acknowledge that there are in fact people who...

Why do all the characters die in British TV?

Yeah, shame about them being disliked by so many yet being nominated and winning so many awards, outselling other fantasy, and having an HBO series based on them. How could that happen with something so many people dislike?

Why do all the characters die in British TV?

I was really losing interest in the last series of the UK Being Human. The first couple of episodes of this series left me a bit flat but this most recent episode has made it much more interesting, so I'm optimistic.

Why do all the characters die in British TV?

Which is a huge part of why the books are so popular: anyone -- ANYONE -- can die. When they're at risk they're genuinely at risk. Could they kill off Castle or Beckett? No, but if each season was only 6 episodes long they sure could, and man would that make it exciting! To each his or her...

Why do all the characters die in British TV?

I'll add that they do it on British TV because they can. In the US a series has to last at least 4 full 22-episode seasons -- enough to put into daily syndication -- in order to be a financial success. You can't risk killing characters. In Britain a 6-episode series can be profitable. It's...

The Walking Dead Episode 2.9 - Triggerfinger

Obviously different strokes, since I enjoyed last week's episode much more than this weeks. Probably a good sign that they're appealing to a wider audience than if they went one way or another.

The iPad 3 will be out in less than a month; it'll be much nicer than the iPad 2 for the (likely) same money, and the super-high-resolution screen will be especially nice for PDFs. It's quite possible that Apple will continue to sell the iPad 2 at a reduced price, too. As such I'd wait a bit...
