    Swordmage Dimensional Dodge question

Uh, what? Do you have any basis for this? You attack the person, not the square. Edit; The closest I can find is Evade the Blow [Ranger 16], which supports the results you state, but not the method of determining them. This is a little weak, though, as it depends on flavor text. Edit2...

    Swordmage Dimensional Dodge question

It being an interrupt changes how it works with attacks that have a Hit: effect. For example: Attack AppleBerry is a ranged attack that teleports the target 5 squares. The swordmage is hit by it, triggers this power, and is teleported adjacent to the attacker. Then, the swordmage is promptly...

    Dynamic Defenses [Idea]

This has been floating around in my head for a couple days.... Any thoughts on it appreciated. Subtract 3 from all monster defenses. At the beginning of a monster's turn, roll a d6. Add this to that monster's defenses until the beginning of its next turn. Simple, eh? Nothing like 3...

    Very stupid question regarding feats...

There are no rules for it because it doesn't happen. The only prerequisites you could possibly lose are Race and Ability Scores, both of which never change (at least in the sense of losing them). Actually, it does look like you can lose the prerequisite for Channel Divinity feats by changing...

Is switching hands a free action?

Starfox was probably referring to PHB 217: "Load: .... If a power allows you to hit multiple targets, the additional load time is accounted for in the power." This actually doesn't apply to thrown weapons by RAW, but I allow it to apply. To me, there's little difference between loading and...

Is switching hands a free action?

The rules are silent on this issue, so... My first idea is that it should be a free action, but only when not actively attacking/defending. Thus, I would rule that it provokes an OA. My second idea is that I really don't want to mess with that OA, so it just becomes a free action.

Spells in Three Dimensions, Looking for some DM Rulings

That's not a real rule. It was a ruling thrown around by Customer Service back in June that some people latched onto.

    Shadar-kai Gloomblade & Invisibility

The way I would play the Gloomblade is that the invisiblity is dispelled when it attacks. This seems to be the intent of the monster, and is a lot more fun than an outright invisible monster. By the "Absolute-RAW" way, once the Gloomblade uses that power, it is invisible.... forever. Nothing...

Ability Checks - Should they be errata'd?

If Stephen Hawking is considered a High-Level character [21-30?], then he better be damn well able to break down that door. A crippled person doesn't get to Epic levels without learning how to move around environments. He could probably use telekinesis to bust open the door. Or maybe he...

    Weapon sizes

Yes. The halberd doesn't get any shorter. PHB 220: When a creature that has a natural reach uses a reach weapon, the weapon increases the creature’s natural reach by 1 square. No... Just, no. "Oversized: You can use weapons of your size or one size larger than you as if they were your size."...

    FRCG Adventure Question

My vote is on typo... Close attacks require the origin square to be in your space (or your space itself). This renders the "within 10" qualifier a moot point. So two possible options. 1) Close Burst 3. 2) Burst 3 within 10. I'd probably go with #2. Any goblin that has seen the shaman...

D&D 4E Question on creating an encounter in 4E

The only time you should ever do a PC writeup for an NPC is if you want a BBEG that keeps on coming back. So it depends on how long you plan for them to stick around for: 1 encounter = monster w/ class template 1 adventure = NPC (as seen in the DMG) 1 campaign = DMPC (made as a PC)

    A quick question about resistances

No. You get the most beneficial. This is seen on DMG 176. Other than that, there's nothing explicitly stating it.

Exceprt: Figurines of Wonderous Power (possible hint at Animal Companions)

Why would they put that after all the other crap. *SIGH* Then again, the rule states that "by an effect that prevents you from taking OAs...." There is no effect preventing you, you just don't have an attack capable of making the OA. So, by really strict reading, they can still flank. [Not...

Exceprt: Figurines of Wonderous Power (possible hint at Animal Companions)

Uh, I think you're going back 3.5. 4e has no stipulation connecting OAs and flanking. As long as you are able to attack (in any form, at any time, for any reason), you are considered for flanking. *Dalzig really wants this book now...*

D&D 4E 4e Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide - Anyone see it?

It's good for the people that are meant to buy it, but bad for the people who aren't meant to buy it? :hmm: So, Wizards got something right?

Correct, because shuriken, daggers, javelins, etc. are not ammuntion.
