Kalamar - first published 4e setting?!?

Hey, wait until I have a chance to answer the question! :) We will be adding the PDF to other sites in the near future, along with all the other stuff we already have up on sites like drivethrurpg. Sorry that's a problem for you. :( Our credit card company likes to have things like name...

Kalamar - first published 4e setting?!?

There will be a Print On Demand version on LULU.com in the near future. Probably before the end of next week, but I can't swear to that. We already have several books up on LULU.

Kalamar - first published 4e setting?!?

Let me think... There are a few new paragraphs here and there throughout, of course, but I think the biggest additions are: - humanoids: I took and edited some material from the v3.5 Player's Guide to the Sovereign Lands, talking about the humanoid races, and wrote up some new info there about...

Kalamar - first published 4e setting?!?

You're right, many triggers are for Immediate and Free actions, but the 4E PHB does mention using triggers with Standard and other actions, such as in readying an action, with rituals, and so on. I intentionally used an existing rule mechanic (the trigger) instead of adding a "Special" line...

Kalamar - first published 4e setting?!?

Our '2nd party' status ended last November or so, when our license agreement ended. We're not using their logos or copying any of their material, like we could before. Likewise, we're not using the GSL.

Ah, but it does! :) The pronunciation guide/glossary is on pages 269-274...

Kalamar - first published 4e setting?!?

Well, all our PDF adventures in the KoK setting are for use with v3.5, so you'd have to change all the rules info (monsters, NPC stats, skills and their DCs, magic items, and any other little bits). I think the flavor vs. crunch is more flavor-heavy than with the WotC modules, but you'd still...

Kalamar - first published 4e setting?!?

It's hard to say right at this moment, but we do have a couple of v3.5 PDF supplements nearly completed, and they may be altered to 4E, or simply have both a v3.5 and 4E version. Though the conversion may take time. Some of the older KoK products could be updated to 4E too, but again that will...

No, we're not using the GSL.

4E-compatible Kingdoms of Kalamar setting released

The Kingdoms of Kalamar fantasy campaign setting is now fully compatible with 4E D&D, and a must have for players and Dungeon Masters of any fantasy campaign. Not only does this 501-page PDF work with 4E D&D classes, races, monsters, and more, but it also includes expanded background details...

Kalamar - first published 4e setting?!?

We'll still be supporting 3.5 for a bit, if for no other reason than we still have a couple of mostly rules free 3.5 PDF products that are nearly completed. ;) And the 2E and 3.5e-compatible PDFs will remain on our webstore, of course.

Kalamar - first published 4e setting?!?

Well, if it helps, there are 43 new channeled divinity feats, and some rules suggestions (not statistics) on how to create new subraces for the elves, gnomes, hobgoblins, and other major humanoid races. ;)

Kalamar - first published 4e setting?!?

Ah, but the 2E version was maybe half the size of the 3E and 4E versions. So that doubles your mind flayer quotient right there! ;) For those who missed it in the OP's post, there's a 16-page preview PDF you can download to check it out. You'll see that I added some information on "how to...

    Help Design the new HackMaster

Thanks for the plug, mhensley! :) For those of you who are interested, we added several HackMaster forum threads over the last year to solicit player feedback for the next edition. Although some of these are visible only to playtesters or HackMaster Association members, there are some open to...

    Excerpt: Economies [merged]

"Bah! Our king is 25th level! As such, all magic weapons he encounters cannot be beneath his notice, and must be appropriate for 26th level! Get out of here with your magic trinket!" :)

    Gen con and WOC

Seems to me that GenCon would be wise to offer WotC 'free' booths and advertising, instead of WotC paying for booth/ad space at the con, until amount of 'free' stuff equals the amount they're owed. Simply trading debt for con space. Might take years, though.

has any body combined FR with grey hawk and the wilderlands

Heresy! :D Dragonborn are desert-based, I think. I'd put them in an uncharted area of the Khydoban, constantly battling the undead kingdom for territory.

So... 3.5 is done in Dragon and Dungeon

Our license agreement with Wizards ended months ago. That stops us from using the D&D logo and reprinting chunks of their books, but it doesn't affect articles or our Kingdoms of Kalamar line. An article should be the author's original material and not directly reprint D&D rules, of course...
