    Skill-based magic variants?

The Expanded Psionics Handbook, with its scaleable powers (augmentations) and point-based spontaneous system reminded me of this thread. So I'm just throwing it out there again to see if anyone has any new thoughts.

    Unearthed Arcana: un-sell me

I'd say it's something you never need for your own simple campaign, but if you're a d20 publisher -- even if only in your own imagination -- it's essential OGC content.

    Warforged - Discussion & Ideas

I'd handle that with a wand of mount, actually. If you want a better combat companion, a plain old construct ought to be able to handle tireless transportation duties. I think "living" constructs will be limited to things that need to be smart. In any case, there are some hints at non-humanoid...

Help me decide when to set my Greek campaign!

That's actually closer to what I've done in my previous Greek adventures than my d20 Modern comparison. Magical creatures have always existed on the outskirts of society -- that's how they're portrayed in Greek myth -- and they've been slowly disappearing as civilization has grown. But lately...

Help me decide when to set my Greek campaign!

Ah, I knew if there were already products doing this, somebody would post about them! I'll have to check them out to make sure it's even worth putting my notes into pretty PDF format. This isn't really a competing product, just a chance to put some of my ideas into a free PDF to share with...

Help me decide when to set my Greek campaign!

If you really dig deep and get back into Homeric/mythic times, you're not even really talking about Greece. You're talking about Minoan civilization, followed by Mycenae and its neighbors. The reason the "ancient Greece" time isn't further back is the same reason I've never set one of my games...

    Character Creation Rut

I like CCamfield's idea. Just to throw out a random concept and let you create the backstory, how about a Dwarf Druid?

    Expanded Psionics: Buying?

XPH + The Dreaming Dark = some really cool adventure ideas.

Help me decide when to set my Greek campaign!

I'm a big fan of Olympian mythology and Greek history, and I have run a few one-shot adventures set in ancient and classical Greece. I have a bunch of notes that I'd like to publish as a free "mini-campaign setting" PDF, but I'm wondering what time period folks would find most interesting...

    Expanded Psionics: Buying?

It sounds neat, so I've ordered it from the cheapest place that's currently shipping it, GameOutfitter.com. Even if I didn't have an interest in psionics, as an amateur d20 publisher I'd want to pick it up for the new rules information. The scaleable powers sound like they're getting close to...

    Complete Divine info?

Hmmm.... sounds to me like a Favored Soul for druids. I like the idea of a "favored soul," but the lack of domains is rough. I'd only play one for flavor reasons, but then the wings go and ruin that.

    Eberron?

I'm starting to think that maybe rounser doesn't like this whole Eberron concept Well said. For more from Eberron designer Keith Baker on this subject, click here. Just a note on this. One of the Dragon articles mention half-orcs will be a bit more common and have a defined culture, though...

    Do you use miniatures

Aww, there's no option for, "Yes, mainly Star Wars action figures."

    Little Changes with Big Flavor

Yes. More precisely, it's the kind of thing I'd download as a PDF. Perhaps each page could flesh out a single concept, breaking out like this: Fluff: explain the idea and variations on it Crunch: provide stats to show how a cosmetic change might affect mechanics References: a short bibliography...

Do you think Eberron will go the way of Ghostwalk?

Ha, I know exactly the skit you're talking about. But that's a real exagerration of film noir movies; usually you'd only hear narration for the protagonist. I wouldn't encourage doing "external internal narration" in a gaming session... beyond the normal, "My character has a bad feeling about...

Do you think Eberron will go the way of Ghostwalk?

A typical D&D campaign is probably already using pulp-style storytelling. It's the side of D&D that's a little more action-oriented, less cerebral, maybe a bit more campy. To really dig into it, you could read some old pulp stories like Doc Savage. As mentioned above, Conan is pulp fantasy, so...

What does it feel like to have half of your max hp?

I think D&D's rules are actually a bit inconsistent on this. On one hand, hit points are interepreted as "luck points," where they represent a character's vitality, energy and combat knowhow. On the other hand, it shouldn't take Legolas five days to heal that soot that's mussing his cheek...

Do you think Eberron will go the way of Ghostwalk?

I'd describe it as fantasy, but there are a few elements that might appeal to the same people who like steampunk, or turn off people who don't. It's primarily a fantasy world built around the D&D ruleset, with a few tweaks to set it apart from other generic-fantasy settings like Greyhawk and...

Do you think Eberron will go the way of Ghostwalk?

The definition of "pulp" is basically "the kind of trashy, action-oriented story that appeared as serialized short stories, films, and straight-to-paperback novels during the first half of the 20th century." It's a style of storytelling rather than a genre, and Rounser described it wel when...

    Special Edition PHB?

I really doubt this will contain any new information. Based on the description given in the catalog, it's just a special edition for collectors.
