    Are shifters too powerful?

Oh good, they finally fixed it up a bit; that's always been my main gripe about the class. Its still not perfect, however. While I like what they did with Weretouched III, I dislike what they did to Alternate Form. 2 uses of shifting to turn into an animal ?!?! And its gone back to the old...

    Shadow Conjuration

The chest is listed as one of the targets of the spell, and further the descriptive text specifies that the chest needs to cost 5000gp. So you'd still need the chest. Now while you don't technically need the focus item, the spell specifically states that you need it to get the chest back, and it...

If you aren't allowed healing, damage prevention is the next best thing: forced share pain, inertial barrier (kineticist), fiery discorporation (kineticist; carry a torch at all times !), energy adaptation

    [Koboldquest] Delivering the Calzone

"Oh," says Miki, sounding almost disappointed. "He's still alive. I guess we should go help him" With that, Miki jogs down the corridor, watching for sign of the attackers. (OOC: double move 60' down the corridor)

From creating a lycanthrope: "Alignment: Any. Noble creatures such as bears, eagles, and lions tend to produce good-aligned lycanthropes. Sinister creatures such as rats, snakes, and wolves tend to produce evil-aligned lycanthropes. This is a reflection of how these animals are perceived, not...

    Defeat The Vile 5' Step

The lousy damage, for starters (No x1.5 str to damage, no power attack, generally lower str bonus to damage etc). Not to mention the difficulty of sneak attacks, penalties for firing into combat, and more.

    Artificers and power playing

Reminds me of an ability in Final Fantasy 7 that let you throw items or coins at the enemy to kill them.

Question about creating an Artificer above 1st level

Er sorry, I was directing that towards Jdvn's post about not allowing the usage of craft feats for newly made characters (other than as flavour), not anything you posted. For your problem, the character wealth guidelines already assume that characters buy stuff over a spread of levels, so I'd...

    Artificers and power playing

That feat that lets you use 2 wands per round burns '2 charges instead of 1' on the offhand wand. And you can't use quicken twice in a round. so he'd be doing a quickened twinned from the first, a twinned from the first, and a twinned from the 2nd for a total cost of 9+5+6 = 20 charges a round...

    Fighter/Psion

If you really want speed of thought I'd put the 14 in int and a 12 in wis, then +2 from stat bumps to int at 4th and 8th, then the final +1 to wis at 12th ;) results in 16 int/13 wis, which is better for skill points and psion stuff, and you can still qualify for the feat.

Question about creating an Artificer above 1st level

So for a theoretical character that's played in your campaign from 1 to 10 who has crafted all the gear that he owns, is the value of his gear 49k or 98k ? If its 98k as one would expect, then why wouldn't a character starting at 10 be able to achieve the same amount, assuming he spent the xp...

    Defeat The Vile 5' Step

Even if you could sunder with an AoO (I believe the faq is making stuff up on this one, as posted above), whats the point ? If you're going to sunder the bow, why not just do it on your turn rather than hoping the archer doesn't do something to thwart your AoO efforts ?

    Are shifters too powerful?

If that were true, they wouldn't have made the Weretouched Master PrC. Unfortunately even if you take that and invest all your feats into shifter feats... its still not very good. By the time you can get your 2x 2d6 claws (and associated +2 str, and +2 dex or con), maybe with rend, possibly DR...

    Are shifters too powerful?

Eh? I don't consider +2 strength and 2 claws (at 1d4 damage) to be 'powerful'. Remember its only for 5ish rounds once/day if you don't spend a good deal of resources boosting it. Assuming you're using a manufactured weapon, you can only use at most 1 of those claw attacks (as a secondary attack...

    Defeat The Vile 5' Step

This strategy falls apart at higher levels where you can ready and manage to get an AoO on the opposing archer, only to have them shoot you full of 6 arrows.

Help me choose my lucky 13th level spells

Otiluuke's Freezing Sphere is often over looked, but quite decent in the way of blasting type spells. It also has some (admittedly very minor) utility.

    Hustle

To rephrase for clarity: A character moving twice his speed in a single round (ie. a double move) is hustling. A character that performs a move action and a standard action in the same round is also hustling. That simple ;) I think its just pointing out that your actions in combat are in fact...

    Invisibility and Glitterdust: What happens?

Well not quite the same way; coating something invisible in flour would eliminate its +20 hide bonus, whereas glitterdust gives them a -40 hide penalty, so someone with glitterdust is even more visible ;)
