[Super Genius Games] New This Week: The Genius Guide to Mystic Godlings

A mortal with the blood of a god flowing through her veins-a hero with one foot in the world of man and the other in the realm of the divine. This concept was explored in the best-selling Genius Guide to the Godling, but that material hardly exhausted the subject. The godlings in that first...

Super Genius Games releases the next volume in their popular Loot 4 Less line: Krazy Kragnar's Used Chariots. In Loot 4 Less, vol. 7: Krazy Kragnar's Used Chariots we're looking at just bargain bin magic chariots and wagons, popular wheeled conveyances any character can use. Not only do we...

P20 Modern Roleplaying Game - only 25 days left!

What we did was figure out what it would cost to give fans what they were telling us they wanted. The biggest request, which included hundreds of posts and direct messages to us, was for a core hardback full-color book that would hit the market with the same penetration as Pathfinder itself, and...

Show me that Power Attack is ever Worth it..

There are other cases where Power Attack may be worthwhile. If you are playing a character with a lot of encounter and/or daily powers that do half damage on a miss, you may want to PA any time you're NOT likely to hit. If for some reason you're in a situation where your attacks are unlikely to...

D&D 5E (2014) Righteous Rage of Tempus: Next weapon attack?

Since the power specifies you deal the extra dice you would deal if that attack were a critical, and an attack wihtout an attack roll can't ever be a critical, I would say your extra dice are coming from a null set, which is to say there aren't any extra dice.

    Hybrid Talent

It would be a problem for some groups, since it would allow hybrid characters to take over single-class character's roles more easily. That can violate spotlight time. For a lot of groups that isn't a problem. If your group is one of those, by all means let people take the feat more often. For...

    Skills

I ultimately think play style has a lot to do with how much people like or dislike skill points. There are places where they absolutely make sense -- everything is done on points in Mutants and Masterminds, why wouldn't skills be? My own play style actually leans towards skill points, to allow...

    Skills

I agree that's the weakest part of the system. I haven't had it derail a campaign, but I do see why the numbers for 4e work they way they do. In retrospect, I think we should have just had a Force Attack value (based on level), and had a UtF check modify your attack by a set amount based on...

    Skills

When we wrote Saga Edition, we had discussions which went round-and-round on which skills to combine and which to keep separate. I think Chris, Rodney and I all had slightly different opinions on what the "right" set for Star Wars was, and the end list isn't exactly what any of us saw the...

    Juggernaut

Revised Juggernaut Obviously nine months is a long time to wait to respond to questions, so I apologise. Attached is a revised Juggernaut class, all 30 levels with paragon paths and feats, which addresses issues raised here and in playtesting the class for two ongoing campaigns and a few...

    D&D 4E A Power Point System for D&D 4e??

Now that's REALLY interesting. I also makes me think abut the question of magic item daily powers, which hadn't come up yet. I don't know if I'd use your numbers, but the action point idea is facinating. Actually, I might just go the magic item daily powers/day, and make a daily power cost that...

    D&D 4E A Power Point System for D&D 4e??

IF I was to go to a power point system (which is going to be more book-keeping for my style of play, but might be worth it for some campaigns), I would go with the following costs: Encounter Attack Powers Cost: 2 + 1 per 5 full levels of the power Daily Attack Powers Cost: 4 +1 per 5 full...

    Juggernaut

Since it's not obvious, it was suggested to me I should mention that the attached file has all 30 levels of the Juggernaut, four Paragon paths, the multiclass feat, and two class-specific feats. So it's a complete 30-level striker class, designed to allow heavy armor, heavy weapon strikers.

    Juggernaut

Can you find the reference for that in the rules? I can't find it, but you're not the only person to mention it. Thanks!

    Juggernaut

They can, in odd corner cases. (All in AV that I know of) I just wanted it to be clear that if your shield did, you got the bonus. It's likely needless detailing, since those shields with such bonuses act as weapons.

    Call of Cthulhu BRP

I think it's safe to say that many fans of CoC see a high lethality for PCs as a feature, rather than a bug. And, it does encourage people to resport to violence when they see no other choice, rather than as a first option. I've never tried BRP for basic fantasy, but I imagine there are...

    Call of Cthulhu BRP

The immortal Stan! of Super Genius Games convinced me BRP was simple and intuitve enough that my feeling I was not a master of the system would not prevent me from writing an adventure for it. I trust Stan! on things like this, which is why I agreed to write Super Genius' Halloween game...
