yep. pulling in a team effort and defeating an elite is fine.

    Non Lethal Damage?

HP are what they're always been. A measure of victory over your opponent. They're a game mechanic. Fair and easy to track. RP wise they're often equated to wounds. But game wise it doesn't matter at all. They're how you determine who wins the fight.

certainly would. hmm. Elites +2 Solos +5 to keep it inline with the save bonuses.

Another attempt at a conjuer class

I actually like using a healing surge up front. The class should be able to take damage about equal to any other class, to not use a healing surge up front is like having free temp HP.

What are the key thematic elements of the Druid Class?

eh, but not by very much. during 99% of gameplay it's not gonna make a wit of difference.

New Race - Thoughts on Balance

Humans have one better, an at will. and half elves get to pick out an encounter power. I'm sure you can come up with something, it doesn't have to be much. That's problematic +dex +wis > +dex +int due to defenses.

What are the key thematic elements of the Druid Class?

I'd actually want to see their stats as str, int, wis It's the same defense wise, but I think int fits druids better skill wise etc. Knowledgeable druid vs. acrobatic druid.

Another attempt at a conjuer class

How about, he conjures it with a class feature, and all his powers sustain it. not quite. The system is always based on equal level combatants so the attack rolls work. Which means a low level solo will have terrible +hit and defenses. It's more trouble that it's worth imo. just a list...

What are the key thematic elements of the Druid Class?

yeah... I have to agree there, but I don't think that aspect can really survive 4E. maybe. But really 4E really does strive for balance at all times. Over powered outside and underpowered inside well...

    Rolling Abilities

One time back in 2E I did it. That's right. I had them roll 3d6 in order no rerolls. And back then classes had stat requirements. They fought a werewolf with the one bard casting magic missile and one of the many fighters using a silver knife (1d3) Ah good times... For 4E I'd use stat...

Another attempt at a conjuer class

The conjuration should not have any actions. In order to attack the conjurer should use one of his powers to cause it to attack. Like the warlord ability, except ranged, and varied. The only thing the conjuration should be able to do on it's own is OA. a. There is no planes skills, it's...

What are the key thematic elements of the Druid Class?

I think you're wrong. Classes change, but there are limits. I'm sure a wild shape focused druid will be an option. But every implementation of druid has them as primary casters. I expect them to be jack of all trade in a very similar way to 4E clerics. 4E clerics can melee attack...

What are the key thematic elements of the Druid Class?

range 10 burst 1 zone effect wis vs ref immobilizes targets. sustain minor. And in the spirit of 4E it works fine indoors.

    Something scary we realized

James is right, you can't revive your self (without something like the human feat) However it's not a big deal. A heal check is much more likely than a self revival.

    Disarm rules

I don't think we need to remove it. But the main cinematic use is at the end, so his version works for the main use of disarm. Yes there are times when the disarm should happen mid fight. The fighter ability covers those to an extent and Paul Strack's version covers the rest I think. The...

    Basic Ranged Damage Modifier

attack +5 vs. AC for 1d10 +3 damage weapon finesse has been replaced by powers that use dex for melee attacks (rogues) The MM elfs have a power that lets them use Dex for basic attacks, however there's no such ability for PCs.

New Race - Thoughts on Balance

Sure we could break 4E design. But why would we really want too? Dex, Int imo. Wis just doesn't strike me as essential. Also it needs an encounter power.
