D&D General How Was Your Last Session?

Our session today was short, like normal when my husband plays. (He can only focus for about an hour and a half.) We at least finally made it to Scornubel and signed up for the tournament. The best part about today's session was when they got ambushed by the same group of bandits that got them...

D&D 5E (2014) Does your group use inspiration? If not, why not?

That's why I award them for good roleplaying/good ideas, and not on keeping track of their flaws/bonds/etc.

D&D 5E (2014) Does your group use inspiration? If not, why not?

I bought solid metal d20s just for this purpose. That way, they have a visual cue that they have inspiration and there isn't a lot of headaches with paperwork.

D&D 5E (2014) Does your group use inspiration? If not, why not?

I use it as a reward for good role playing. It is not an automatic perk.

The maps look interesting, but I am not interested in digital.

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford Talks D&D Alignment Changes

I am referring to right now, as one of my daughters is about to enter driver's ed. This will be the fifth kid we have taught to drive (foster family). All drive their dad's car, which is a manual, and get good at that before we let them drive an automatic. This way, they will always be able to...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford Talks D&D Alignment Changes

Official errata is useful for groups that haven't played the adventure as soon as it came out.

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford Talks D&D Alignment Changes

We make our kids learn on a stick first. That way they can always drive if they need to.

D&D General Fantasy Racism in D&D

One of my son's characters is a dwarf that is pretty racist against drows. Both of my daughter's characters are drows. While his racist character slowly comes to accept them, the rest of the party (including his other character, a dwarf that accepts everybody) plays a lot of peace keeping. We...

D&D General Do Your Human Characters Match Your Ethnicity (etc)?

They don't necessarily look like me and I pick both genders. It depends upon my mood at the time. They are always heterosexual, though. That is what I am and I don't need to play with sexuality during D&D. The only time it comes up anyway is during a bad round of carousing, and then the goal is...

D&D General Two underlying truths: D&D heritage and inclusivity

He isn't on the forum. What he doesn't know won't hurt him. :P I happen to love the color green. Lol!

D&D General Two underlying truths: D&D heritage and inclusivity

My son is actually offended by the color green, because he can't differentiate it from yellow. :P (He has a rare form of color-blindness where he cannot see blue at all, even when it is mixed with other colors.)

    D30 Overland Travel Mishaps

We're headed on a long wagon train journey soon in our campaign. This will definitely help liven things up.

What do YOU think makes a "good" adventure?

GIMP? Is this a program that can be used? I've just been using whiteout, so it's still fairly obvious that SOMETHING important was there.

How long does your TTRPG gaming sessions usually last?

We usually go around 4 hours, but will stop earlier if I notice that my son or husband is fading. Once they start wandering off, we have found that it is much less irritating to just call it a day at the next semi-stopping point.
