D&D 5E (2014) Can your Druids wear metal armor?

If they have a home base (or just a town that they'll be swinging by at a known time) the druid could possibly hire a hunter to get the materials they need.

    It's Your Turn to Play

They never paid attention in typing class. I'm a teacher, and when I have a bad bout of laryngitis, I just hook my computer up to the tv and type my answers out to the students. It weirded out my principal, but it didn't phase my students at all.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why Don't We Simplify 5e?

Our house rule is that a new player needs to pick a fighter, but once they are comfortable with the game, they can trade out to something else if they want, or start multi-classing.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why Don't We Simplify 5e?

I would be interested in that. I like the map and my minis, but being able to do without would make it easier to play if we were stuck in an airport or something like that. (Not much traveling happening right now, but the world will eventually get back to a new normal.)

Rules FAQ How Does Mounted Combat Work in D&D 5E?

That's what I basically do, too. If you have a trained combat mount, it makes sense that part of that training lets it attack and not just move when it is being controlled.

Rules FAQ How Does Mounted Combat Work in D&D 5E?

I'll have to take a look at that part again. I have to admit, my eyes were glazed over for much of Tasha's.

D&D General How Was Your Last Session?

Since the players high tailed it to Waterdeep after the dragon cultists "celebrated" Tiamat's Day of Vengeance by slaughtering all the guests at the inn and then ran off, I think I'm going to give them the option of staying with the original plan or morphing. I am going to have Leosin give them...

Advice on on-line gaming for a complete novice

I like that idea. I've been toying with finding an Online group, but have stalled out at the thought of the new (to me) technology. Admittedly, another time commitment is big, too. With my family game, it might be irritating when we have a month between sessions, but being flexible around...

    D&D 5E (2024) Should There Be a Core Setting?

I could barely read Tasha's. I have it, but I doubt I will use it much.

How do you store and carry your dice?

I have a nice wooden box where I store all my dice. They are sorted in various bags, though.

Rules FAQ How Does Mounted Combat Work in D&D 5E?

Actually, most knights had no horses and had pretty poor armor and weaponry. All of that cost money, which wasn't in high supply. This was also the true reason behind tournaments. Even more than the big cash prize, it was a way for them to win "ransoms" of armor and horses from their conquered...

Rules FAQ How Does Mounted Combat Work in D&D 5E?

Actually, this is basic tactics. Take out the mount and the warrior isn't quite as fearsome, along with possibly being injured.

D&D General How Was Your Last Session?

My players would have been all over that!

D&D 5E (2014) D&D 5e suggestions for two beginner children and a first time DM dad?

That's what I do. The second time around, I ask them at each part, but have them do everything they can on their own. The third time, they are on their own and ask help when needed.

D&D 5E (2014) D&D 5e suggestions for two beginner children and a first time DM dad?

This isn't just little kids. My 17 year-old insisted on befriending the wolf that was trying to kill her for the goblins -- and then we had a wolf pet.

D&D General WotC: Novels & Non-5E Lore Are Officially Not Canon

I am seeing that, too. If Ben was his uncle, not his great uncle, he wouldn't have been that old, even if there was a 20 year age difference between the brothers.

If they are out of area, though, time zone can be an issue. Also, Online is a lot different from in-person.

D&D General WotC: Novels & Non-5E Lore Are Officially Not Canon

They are only easy to find if you live in an urban area. Rural towns still have major difficulties in this arena.
