    Cookin again

Today's menu apparently includes flambeed soup. Fortunately, I saw what was going on before my daughter caught the house on fire. Also, we were fortunately able to salvage the soup with the help of an extra onion.

    Cookin again

I ate out for the first time yesterday, now that we are all vaccinated, and it felt wonderful! (When I travelled to Alabama and Georgia a couple of months ago, we did go to one restaurant, but I'm not counting it, since all of the seating was outside.)

Air Conditioner Madness (What do you set yours at?)

With temps in the 90s over the last two days, and probably topping 100 tomorrow, it's been tempting. However, this would have to be a whole lot more frequent for me to hire somebody to install a heating/air conditioning system. I hate the window boxes, so those are a no-go.

Worlds of Design: To Move or Not to a New Edition?

Plus, you can still use the old books to fill in the gaps on your new campaigns. I bought 2E, 3E, and 4E materials for my 5E game.

Worlds of Design: To Move or Not to a New Edition?

I started with 5E, so I haven't had to do this yet. However, I assume that if we are in the middle of a campaign and want to start including elements of the new edition, we will where it makes sense. After that, though, we'll probably just use the new edition.

    Cookin again

New Zealand, or Australia? Actually, people are pretty worried. It is only June, and all time highs will probably be broken on Sunday. I've already let my daughter know that we won't be having the big mortars we usually get on the 4th, and if things don't get better soon, we won't even have the...

    Cookin again

In this heat wave, we'll be having a lot of barbecue.

    D&D 5E (2014) Shoreline Adventures

I'll have to check out Sleeping Dragon's Wake. I won't be able to get a hardcopy of Ghosts in time to prep, unfortunately. I'll get PDFs for shorter adventures if I have to, and then print them out, but I can't do it for a full campaign.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D 5E: Ranking every published adventure, using Amazon reviews

I bought it to be filler for HoTDQ when the party is in Waterdeep. The second half of the adventure, I am assuming that is pretty much going to be their home base.

D&D 5E (2024) YOU are in charge of the next PHB! What do you change?

We really need a better list of what organizations are out there.

    D&D 5E (2014) Shoreline Adventures

I might use the Blackbird adventure, substituting faerie dragons for the birds.

That specific module would be great, but really any shoreline location.

    D&D 5E (2014) Shoreline Adventures

So far, I am seeing "Down Came a Blackbird" (might substitute mini-dragons for the birds) and "Dragon's Gambit."

    D&D 5E (2014) Shoreline Adventures

My players went off-script last session and now I need to prep something for the shoreline for my next session. Since this is just one of many ways they could choose to go, though, I would like to use something off the DMG instead of an official book (not to mention PDFs don't have shipping...

D&D General Any advice on looking for an irl group?

I get it. It's hard enough to schedule around people you get to see face to face. Scheduling the same time in front of a computer screen seems even harder -- at least to me.

D&D General Any advice on looking for an irl group?

If it's a town that small, Meetup probably won't help, unfortunately. I am facing a similar problem in my town. I play with my kids (and my husband when we tell him we need the extra fire power), but it would be nice to have an outside group to game with, where I could actually be a player...

I just picked up my CSA today. It's going to be a stir fry night!

    D&D 5E (2014) Do We Really Need a Lot of Gold? (D&D 5th Edition)

In those adventures, the DM can always handwave or change the pressures of time.
